Maryland Ensemble Theatre's Fun Company to Present THE LITTLE PRINCE
Maryland Ensemble Theatre's (MET) family theatre, The Fun Company, will present, 'The Little Prince'. Based on the book by Antoine de Saint-Exupery and adapted by Rick Cummins and John Scoullar, 'The Little Prince', is an imaginative story of an unlikely friendship between an aviator who lands in the Sahara Desert and a tiny prince who has fallen from the sky. The Prince tells tales of life and lessons learned among the stars. A show entertaining for the whole family, it will run at MET this February for ten performances over five weeks. 'It's a true ensemble piece that is full of enchantment and heart,' said Fun Company Artistic Director Julie Herber. 'This is going to be a special treat for families to share together and it's our hope that it will spark many thoughtful discussions.'

Written by Reiner Prochaska and directed by Suzanne Beal, the play tells the story of a family living on a German farm in Frederick during the Revolutionary War. When they end up taking an escaped Hessian soldier captive, the soldier helps them rediscover love, hope, forgiveness, and the meaning of Christmas. A show for the whole family and an excellent way to celebrate the holidays, it will run at MET this December for fourteen performances over four weeks.

In this re-interpretation of the classic tale, 'The Wonderful Wizard of Oz', outsider Dee finds himself in an odd fantastical world filled with strange creatures. In his journey to find his way home, he meets a trio of misfits who help him discover the true meaning of friendship, home and self worth. The 'Wizard of Odd' is coming to the JBK Theatre at Frederick Community College (7932 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick) from today, August 8 through 16.

Written by MET ensemble member, Caitlin Joy, and directed by fellow ensemble member Vanessa Strickland, the show hopes to capture audiences by creating entire universes out of only 6 actors and a collection of objects. The playwright is excited to share her new work; 'Vanessa has a fantastic vision for this show and the cast and crew are top notch, so it's bound to be a great performance. The laughs and the lessons are for audiences of all ages. And live theatre is always its own adventure!' The show will run from today, June 7 through June 29 at MET.

Other Voices Theatre Presents 18th Annual Production of THE NEW ADVENTURES OF ALICE IN WONDERLAND This Weekend
Local theater group, Other Voices, is in the midst of rehearsals for their annual springtime production of The New Adventures of Alice in Wonderland at The Weinberg Center for the Arts. The cast is a mix of Frederick acting icons, like Julie Herber and Joann Lee (hailing from The MET) reprising their respective Red and White Queen roles. Jeremy Trammelle (Mad Hatter), Shawn Nakia (White Rabbit), and Amanda Patten (The Duchess) are also joining the cast. Other Voices is excited to introduce Miss Charley Bennett in the featured role of Alice.
