Review: UGLY! A CINDERELLA STORY, Lanternhouse Theatre
In this magical makeover journey, the Fairy Godmother and Ugly Sister must work together to achieve a transformation really worth doing and discover that true worth is on the inside, not the outside. But will the Ugly Sister accept the help she needs or has she been wearing this ‘ugly’ label too long to change?
Review: MADE IN CHINA, Oran Mor
Deliveries pile up in a semi in Wishaw, as Janet panic-buys for her daughter’s sixteenth. She wants to get everything right.
Five thousand miles away, Hui Ting works relentless factory shifts to keep her daughter off the assembly line.
BWW Review: CINDERFELLA, Tron Theatre, Glasgow
Well, that's the life Cinderella leads. It's a pure nightmare - and her family? Well, they make the Kardashians look positively normal. She's got two idiotic step-brothers - Harry and Larry - who are incapable of doing anything for themselves; a Stepmother so wicked she makes Ann Widdecombe look warm and cuddly; AND she has to work morning, noon and night in the family dressmaking business, the only place with lovely memories of her deceased mother and father. It's not a happy life.
Tron's 2019 Panto CINDERFELLA Will Feature All-women Cast
It's almost panto time at the Tron Theatre and this year we are delighted to announce that our 2019 pantomime CINDERFELLA (27th Nov 2019 - 5th Jan 2020) is set to defy convention once again by featuring an all-women cast of Tron panto legends, just one year after progressive panto Mammy Goose portrayed a heart-warming tale of same-sex love between two heroes. Penned once again by the inimitable Johnny McKnight, this year's pantomime Christmas show will be directed and designed by the undisputed king of panto glitz Kenny Miller!
Tron Theatre Company Presents THE ALCHEMIST
The centrepiece of Tron Theatre's Autumn season will be Gary McNair's adaptation of Ben Jonson's Jacobean farce, The Alchemist, presented by Tron Theatre Company. Re-written in rhyming couplets and re-located from London to Glasgow, this new commission for the theatre promises to be a brilliantly comic caper.
THE CHEVIOT, THE STAG, AND THE BLACK, BLACK OIL Returns For Nationwide Tour
One of Scottish theatre's most iconic and influential productions returns to the stage in 2019, in a special revival from the National Theatre of Scotland. First staged by the 7:84 company in the 1970s, John McGrath's The Cheviot, The Stag, and the Black, Black Oil has become a cornerstone of contemporary Scottish theatre. Successfully restaged by director Joe Douglas in 2015, the show broke box office records at Dundee Rep Theatre before touring Scotland to critical and audience acclaim.

BWW Review: ALICE IN WEEGIELAND, Tron Theatre, Glasgow
WEEGIELAND: a pantospherical wonderland populated with talking creatures, maniacal power-hungry queens and a fella who can get you a pirate copy of Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them Part 6 before its even been written yet.
Generous Tron Theatre Customers Pay It Forward With Panto
It's almost panto time at the Tron Theatre and this year's offering, Alice in Weegieland (1 Dec '17 - 7 Jan '18), written once again by Johnny McKnight, promises to take audiences 'doon the stank' to the weird and fantastical Weegieland populated by magical talking creatures and a power-hungry queen with a penchant for jam tarts (the cake, not the football team).
BWW Review: LET THE RIGHT ONE IN a Frightening, Captivating Good Time
With the National Theatre of Scotland's production of LET THE RIGHT ONE IN coming to town, I approached with trepidation. How would that quiet, atmospheric film translate onto the stage. The answer, it turns out, is damn well. Jack Thorne's LET THE RIGHT ONE IN is damn close to a perfect play.
