New Musical Farce FLIES! THE MUSICAL! to Make Concert Debut at Uptown Underground

The writing team of Cindy O'Connor and Larry Todd Cousineau have announced a concert presentation of their latest musical, Flies! The Musical! on August 14th, 2017 at 8:00PM at Uptown Underground, 4707 N Broadway, Chicago. This concert production features Musical Direction by Jimmy Morehead and performances by Frankie Leo Bennett, Veronica Garza, Sharreise Hamilton, Ashlee Hardgrave, Luke Meierdiercks, Steven Perkins, Sawyer Smith and Tiffany Tatreau.

"At the Table", Michael Perlman's drama of scintillating conversation between diverse friends during a weekend in the country, took home the most honors on Monday, June 5, during the 44th Annual Non-Equity Jeff Awards ceremony recognizing excellence in non-union Chicago theatre. 

Jeff Awards 2017 Non-Equity Nominations Announced

The Jeff Awards announced, via a special video presentation, a total of 127 nominations in 26 categories for the 44th Annual Non-Equity Jeff Awards for productions that opened between April 1, 2016, and March 31, 2017.  Hosting the video presentation were Alexis Roston and Lillian Castillo, who will be this year's Mistresses of Ceremonies at the Awards event on June 5 at The Athenaeum.

Porchlight Music Theatre and Artistic Director Michael Weber are proud to announce the final production in the third smash season of Chicago's 'lost' musicals in staged concert series, Porchlight Revisits Chess, music by Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus, lyrics by Tim Rice and Bjorn Ulvaeus and book by Tim Rice, with direction by Porchlight Artistic Director Michael Weber, choreography by Porchlight Artistic Associate Brenda Didier and music direction by Jimmy Morehead. Porchlight Revisits Chess is presented for three-nights-only Tuesday, May 3 through Thursday, May 5 at 7:15 p.m. and is performed on the set of Porchlight's Dreamgirls (previews begin April 8) on nights when there are no performances at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave. Tickets for Chess are $30 in advance and $35 at the door the night of the performance.
