When I heard that CONWAY MEN’S CHORUS was celebrating 25 years of singing, I knew I needed to check out their Holiday Concert Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Reynolds Performance Hall at The University of Central Arkansas in Conway, and I loved this celebration of music, community, and the holiday spirit. Not only did they have a beautiful repertoire, but they let others shine that evening as well.
James Robinson Named General and Artistic Director Of Seattle Opera

James Robinson is the next General and Artistic Director of Seattle Opera, and the fifth person to lead the company in its 61-year history. Robinson begins his tenure on September 4, 2024, replacing Christina Scheppelmann, who takes over as General and Artistic Director of Brussels' La Monnaie/De Munt in January 2025 following the completion of her contract with Seattle Opera.

The great Groundhog Jam has a long history of prying jazz fans out of their warm burrows and into the chill of February weather in order to welcome the advent of spring. The Bickford Theatre at the Morris Museum continues a tradition of hosting this event on Monday, February 4, 2019 at 7:30 PM. Herb Gardner, who plays both trombone and piano, is assembling a stellar group of musicians from the New York, New Jersey, and New England areas including: Fred Vigorito on cornet, Joe Licari on clarinet, James Chirilloon guitar, Mike Weatherly on bass and Robbie Scott on drums. Daughters Abbie and Sarah Gardner will be handling the vocals and guitar.

Singer/entertainer Jenene Caramielo brought her thrilling voice to Feinstein's/54 Below last night and BroadwayWorld was there. Jenene graduated from Shenandoah Conservatory, in Virginia, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theater. She studied private voice, dance and acting as well as piano and improvisation. After college she started working in different regional theaters in Virginia and Florida. With a thirst to travel she continued her career as the headliner on different cruise lines such as Holland America, Celebrity, Royal Caribbean and most recently she performed as a guest entertainer on a 2013 world tour with Princess Cruises where she sang her way through Australia to the middle east and Italy.

Toklas, and their circle of friends--had its world premiere at the Opera Theatre of Saint Louis (OTSL) in 2014, its upcoming performances at City Center in New York, on October 20-21, are a debut of a different color. As part of the 75th anniversary season of MasterVoices, formerly The Collegiate Chorale, 27 has had some interesting changes since the performances seen in St. Louis.
