Dances We Dance presents its 2023 Fall Season featuring choreography by Francesca Todesco, Rae Ballard, Jim May, Benjamin Cortés, and Mark Bankin. The season includes a reunion performance by former dance partners Francesca Todesco and Benjamin Cortés. The lineup also includes works by Anna Sokolow and guest choreographer Mark Bankin. The season showcases the evolution of American Modern Dance and pays homage to the legacy of Betty Jones and Fritz Ludin, the founders of Dances We Dance.
Sokolow Theatre/Dance Ensemble Rooms Sypmosium Now Available Online
Sokolow Theatre/Dance Ensemble's symposium on Anna Sokolow's Rooms that took place on December 5, 2020, is now available online for review. The free event was moderated by Dance Enthusiast Founder and Editor in Chief Christine Jowers, and featured speakers from the Library of Congress, Prof. Neil Baldwin, and dancers who have performed Rooms.
Sokolow Company Presents I'M NOT HERE TO BE POLITE
The SOKOLOW THEATRE/DANCE ENSEMBLE will return to the Mark O'Donnell Theater at the Actors Fund Arts Center in Brooklyn with 'I'm not here to be polite,' a program of works by Anna Sokolow, Valerie Bettis, Jim May, and guest choreographer Robert Cleary, March 21-24. The presentation will feature the new generation of Sokolow dancers, taught and coached by masters in the Sokolow style and intent.
