San Jose Playhouse has announced the full cast and creative team for the Company’s long-awaited production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s Pulitzer Prize-winning musical masterpiece SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE.

San Jose Playhouse Presents XANADU, August 19 - September 11

XANADU, the musical hit that enchanted South Bay audiences for 11 weeks in 2011 at The Retro Dome, returns for a limited run at San Jose Playhouse. Performances will take place as part of 3Below Theaters' “Up On The Roof” program, an outdoor entertainment festival taking place on the roof of the 2nd Street and San Carlos Garage above 3Below Theaters.

Hillbarn Theatre Rings In The Holiday Season With A CHRISTMAS CAROL

Hillbarn Theatre, the Peninsula's premier theatre company, brings the holiday spirit to its 2018-19 season with Alan Menken and Lynn Ahrens's musical adaption of the timeless Charles Dickens tale A Christmas Carol. Hailed as "soaring, delightful musical theatre with a treasure house of beautiful, evocative music" (Talkin' Broadway), A Christmas Carol tells the classic story of Ebenezer Scrooge through a lavish and thrilling score. A Christmas Carol will perform at Hillbarn Theatre (1285 East Hillsdale Blvd., Foster City) November 29-December 16, 2018. Hillbarn Theatre Closes Out 2017-18 Season with SISTER ACT

Hillbarn Theatre, the Peninsula's premier theatre company, closes out its 2016-17 season with the Peninsula premiere of the five-time Tony Award-nominated musical smash, Sister Act. Based on the hit 1992 film of the same name, this feel-good musical comedy centers around wannabe diva Deloris Van Cartier who, after witnessing a crime, is put into witness protection in the least likely of places-a convent.  Using her unique disco moves and singing talent to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the church and community but, in doing so, blows her cover. Featuring original music by eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken (Newsies, Beauty and the Beast, Little Shop of Horrors) and lyrics by Glenn Slater (The Little Mermaid, School of Rock, Love Never Dies), this uplifting musical is filled with powerful gospel music, outrageous dancing and a truly moving story about the universal power of friendship.

Today, Feinstein's at the Nikko announced Free Wednesdays at Feinstein's, a rotating series of events presented at Feinstein's at the Nikko on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Wednesday of each month beginning Wednesday, April 5, 2017 and continuing through November 2017. 

Hillbarn Theatre's Annual Gala Raises Over $100,000 for Community Arts Initiatives Throughout the Bay Area

Today, Hillbarn Theatre, the Peninsula's premier community theatre company, announced that it raised over $100,000 at its annual gala, When You Wish Upon A Star, which took place on Saturday, November 5 at Peninsula Temple Sholom in Burlingame.  The proceeds from the gala support Hillbarn Theatre and their community arts initiatives throughout the Bay Area.

This holiday season, Hillbarn Theatre - the Peninsula's premier community theatre company - will present Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's Mary Poppins, the magical high-flying musical that has swept the hearts and imaginations of families around the globe. Based on the books by P.L. Travers and the classic Walt Disney film, Mary Poppins follows the story of young Jane and Michael who have sent many nannies packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of common sense - and a little bit of magic - she teaches the family members how to value each other again. This delightful musical features favorite Mary Poppins tunes including 'A Spoonful of Sugar,' 'Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious,' 'Jolly Holiday,' 'Let's Go Fly a Kite,' 'Step in Time,' and 'Chim Chiminey.'

The two equity actors give great character and Broadway-quality vocals to song and dance partners Bob Wallace and Phil Davis. Behind them, an ensemble provides perfect harmonies attuned to the show's 1950's era.
