Cast Announced for Pride Films and Plays' THE GREEN BAY TREE

Full casting has been announced for Pride Films and Plays' production of the landmark British drama THE GREEN BAY TREE, which premiered in London's West End in 1933 and later that year made Laurence Olivier an international star when he played the lead on Broadway opposite his then-wife Jill Esmond. It was a scandalous hit in both London and New York. In THE GREEN BAY TREE, an infamous comedy of manipulation, a charming young man is forced to choose between the love of his fiancee, the lifestyle of his male mentor, and the prescription of his upbringing.
Pride Films and Plays to Produce a Five-Play Summer Repertory

Pride Films and Plays will fill the three months between its 2017-18 season and its already announced 2018-19 season with a five-play summer repertory of fully staged plays, according to an announcement today by company Executive Director David Zak. The summer rep, called "PAC Pride Fest," will include a world premiere, a US premiere, a Chicago premiere, a British drama that made Laurence Olivier an American stage star, and a new production of Joe DiPietro's comedy-drama f**kING MEN.

JERMYN STREET THEATRE Announces 1930s Autumn Season

Jermyn Street Theatre and Anthony Biggs today announce a season of rediscovered work to run from September to December 2014. Comprising three plays by English playwrights, all first staged in 1933 to 1934, the line up is made up of John van Druten's lament to the fallen of World War One - Flowers of The Forest, the first ever revival of Terence Rattigan's debut work - First Episode and the first production in sixty years of Mordaunt Shairp's controversial 1930s allusion to homosexuality - The Green Bay Tree.
