The 24 Hour Plays: Viral Monologues will return on Tuesday, October 5th, with an all new series of unforgettable performances. Eighteen actors have been paired with writers who have crafted unique pieces especially for them. From 6 PM until 10 PM, new monologues will be published every 15 minutes.  
Artists at Play's Production of TWO MILE HOLLOW Extends Additional Week of Performances

Artists at Play's production of Two Mile Hollow by Leah Nanako Winkler will be extending due to popular demand. The story of the very White Donnelly family is told with an all-Asian American cast and presented by Artists at Play (AAP) as part of a series of world premieres across the country, each receiving much critical acclaim. For Laura, in Noel Coward's beautiful pre-World War II black & white film, Brief Encounter, it is an unexpected meeting at a train station that leads to a secret romance with a friendly stranger named Alec. In ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE, the stage play inspired by Coward's film, written and directed by Stephen Sachs, it is a moment in a modern day New York subway station that thrusts Emily (Deanne Bray) into a similar romantic conundrum with another stranger, Sam (Troy Kotsur).

BWW Review: East West's KENTUCKY Goes Down Smooooth As Its Namesake's Bourbon

The East West Players' West Coast premiere of playwright Leah Nanako Winkler's KENTUCKY stuns and enthralls with its highly dramatic, polarizing emotions emoted by its almost perfect cast. Winkler has written a most involving piece of theatre that walks a razor-thin tightrope between knee-slapping comedy and heartstring-tugging drama. Very nice!

East West Players (EWP), the nation's longest-running professional theatre of color in the country and the largest producing organization of Asian American artistic work, is pleased to announce the cast and creative team for the West Coast premiere of Kentucky, which the The New York Times has praised as "…the full-length debut of a distinctive new voice - mouthy, sly and bourbon sweet, with the expected kick."Written by Leah Nanako Winkler and directed by Deena Selenow, Kentucky begins performances on November 10 and runs until December 11, 2016, with opening night on November 16.
