Cuban Artists Donate on Behalf of Scott-Free Scholarship Foundation

The World of Art Showcase (WOAS), an international art show dedicated to exhibiting talented artists and creating a community where artists have direct access to their market, has announced the Scott-Free Scholarship Foundation as a beneficiary of the organization's VIP Masquerade Ball, which is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 31, in Raleigh. As part of the event, artists and twin brothers Orlando and Eduardo Javier Garcia of Havana, Cuba, will have their donated work showcased. Eduardo and Orlando gained recognition in the US after Deborrah J. Gruder, executive director of the Scott-Free Scholarship Foundation, spoke with them about the foundation and its efforts to send at-risk youth to summer camps. Upon learning of the mission, the brothers generously donated a 14-piece signed collection of their work, called 'VIDA,' to help U.S. children via the foundation. During the World of Art Showcase, which is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 1, through Sunday, Nov. 3, at the Raleigh Convention Center downtown, Eduardo and Orlando will speak about their photography, their creative process, and the origin of the series they generously gifted to the Scott-Free Scholarship Foundation. World Of Art Showcase to Feature Raleigh Artists Josep and Sharon DiGiulio

The World of Art Showcase (WOAS), an international art show dedicated to exhibiting talented artists and creating a community where artists have direct access to their market, has announced that Joseph and Sharon DiGiulio will exhibit their works at the inaugural event Friday, Nov. 1 through Sunday, Nov. 3 at the Raleigh Convention Center, located at 500 S. Salisbury Street. The DiGiulios, married professional artists, will display pieces that demonstrate their years of experience and expertise in acrylics, collage, mixed media and encaustic through their presentations at the showcase. Joseph DiGiulio is a professional abstract painter from Raleigh and is the educational accounts manager and executive artist for Jerry's Artarama, a leading retailer for artist materials and a sponsor of the WOAS. He has a degree in art education and a minor in sculpture from East Carolina University and previously worked in the textile screen printing industry and owned a printing business that catered to clients including Philip Morris, Pepsi Cola, Adidas and Banana Republic. He offers free art lessons online and has produced eight DVDs highlighting his teaching skills in abstract painting and product usage. An award-winning artist, Joseph has most recently produced large-scale abstract acrylic paintings that reflect his use of color, line, shape and texture. Joseph's recent installations are located at Duke Raleigh Hospital and the PNC Plaza building in downtown Raleigh. As a cancer survivor, he produces art with the expression of color and dynamics that capture the success of his recovery. Sharon DiGiulio is an award-winning artist and instructor. World Of Art Showcase Features Raleigh Artist Carol Joy Shannon

The World of Art Showcase (WOAS), an international art show dedicated to exhibiting talented artists and creating a community where artists have direct access to their market, has announced that Carol Joy Shannon will be a featured artist at the inaugural event Friday, Nov. 1 through Sunday, Nov. 3 at the Raleigh Convention Center, located at 500 S. Jerry's Artarama Annual Art of the Carolinas Celebrates 13th Year, 11/8

This year marks the 13th annual Art of the Carolinas Art Materials and Exhibition Trade Show once again in Raleigh North Carolina. Art of the Carolinas, an international exposition of artist materials and techniques for artists, instructors, students and hobbyists, puts Raleigh, NC on the map every November as it graces the art community with workshops, discounts and product demonstrations. Jerry's Artarama, Raleigh's premiere art supplier, will host the annual event Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 8, 2013-November 10, 2013 at the Hilton North Raleigh (3415 Wake Forest Road).
