Washington Stage Guild to Present MEMOIRS OF A FORGOTTEN MAN

The Washington Stage Guild will conclude its 2021-2022 season with Memoirs of a Forgotten Man by D.W. Gregory. The play, which had its world premiere at The Contemporary American Theatre Festival in 2018, takes place in the Stalinist Soviet Union, where a man’s inability to forget those whom the government has “erased” becomes increasingly problematic for him and his family.

To follow our well-received streamed performances of George Bernard Shaw’s Don Juan in Hell, The Devil’s Disciple and How He Lied to Her Husband, we offer a play that explores the private life of our “house playwright,” George Bernard Shaw - Jerome Kilty’s 1957 epistolary play, Dear Liar, streaming free of charge from September 29th at 8 PM through October 3rd at 8 PM.

Bucks County Playhouse announced today that a special benefit reading of Jerome Kilty's play, 'Dear Liar' starring 4-time Oscar nominee Marsha Mason and Emmy winner Brian Cox and directed by Broadway's Mark Brokaw ('How I Learned to Drive'), will make its streaming debut on Tuesday, September 1 at 7:00 PM EST.

Kicking off its 50th anniversary festivities, American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) will present a one-night-only reading of Jerome Kilty's Dear Liar on Sunday, October 2 at 7 p.m. at A.C.T.'s Geary Theater. Starring Academy Award nominee and M.F.A. graduate Annette Bening and A.C.T. favorite Mark Harelik, this special event will be directed by fellow A.C.T. alum Nancy Carlin, whose mother Joy Carlin was A.C.T.'s associate artistic director in 1986.

Kiev's National Academic Theatre of Russian Drama Lesya Ukrainka brings a festival of events celebrating Ukrainian culture to the St. James Theatre from 8 to 19 September 2015, curated by Mikhail Reznikovich, Artistic Director of the National Academic Theatre of Russian Drama Lesya Ukrainka. The festival, comprising four plays, two free film screenings and a photography exhibition, will give British audiences a rare chance to acquaint themselves with some of Ukraine's cultural masterpieces as well as its developing modern arts scene. Theatre francais de Toronto will present Quebec screen and stage legends Louise Marleau and Albert Millaire in Cher menteur (Dear Liar: A Comedy of Letters) by Jerome Kilty. Translated into French by the famed poet Jean Cocteau and directed by Millaire himself, the Toronto premiere of this epistolary comedy opens at the Berkeley Street Theatre today, February 19 and runs to March 1. There will be English surtitles.

Actor/playwright Jerome Kilty of Weston, Conn., died today at Norwalk Hospital of cardiac arrest. He was 90. Kilty was one of the victims of a two-car crash on Georgetown Road in Weston, on Wednesday, Sept. 5.
