American Traditions Vocal Competition Appoints New Board Members To Lead Local Nonprofit Organization
Paul Chant, Tricia Guggenheim, Beverly Jaques, Susan Kleine, Samir Nikocevic, Daniel Rizzo, Judy Witbeck, and Mel Whitehead have joined the American Traditions Vocal Competition (ATC) Board of Directors. Artistic Director Mikki Sodergren, along with this 18-member board, will lead the ATC in its 27th anniversary competition, which runs Feb. 17-21, 2020.

Sunday's televised launch marked the first in a series of commercials, starring Guidarelli, for SONY's latest advertising campaign called 'Opera.' York Theater Company to Host Staged Reading of Erik Ransom's MORE THAN ALL THE WORLD
James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director of York Theater Company has announced that as part of its Developmental Reading Series, it will present Erik Ransom's 'More Than All the World' an epic musical inspired by Christopher Marlowe's 'Edward II' directed by Rachel Klein ('Around the World in 80 Days', 'The Anthem') with music direction and arrangements by Andy Peterson ('Atomic'). The reading will take place on March 15th at 2PM.

The three-time Grammy and two-time Emmy Award-winning artist made her Metropolitan Opera debut in 1954 and over her half-century-long career, has sung more than 50 roles. Ken Benson, renowned artists manager and longtime Opera Index supporter, will present the award to Ms. Elias.
The Met to Celebrate James Levine's 70th Birthday with Special Programming on Sirius XM this Weekend
The Metropolitan Opera will celebrate its longtime Music Director James Levine's 70th birthday with two full days of special programming on Met Opera Radio (Sirius XM Channel 74). The weekend-long marathon will feature 14 classic Levine performances, hand-picked by the maestro himself, beginning on Saturday, June 22 and continuing through midnight on Levine's birthday, Sunday, June 23. The first broadcast, at 6 a.m. Saturday, will be a 1991 performance of Verdi's Un Ballo in Maschera starring Luciano Pavarotti; the celebration will conclude at 12 a.m. on Monday, June 24 with a 1994 performance of Verdi's rarely heard Stiffelio, starring Placido Domingo in the title role.
