22nd Annual Black Excellence Awards Nominations Announced

The Board of Directors of the African American Arts Alliance, and the Black Excellence Awards Committee have announced the nominations for the 22nd Annual Black Excellence Awards. The Awards were established in 2002 to honor the outstanding works of art by African Americans in Theater, Dance, Music, Film, Literature, Visual Arts and Digital Media.

Chicago artists Tyla Abercrumbie, Will Allan, Wardell Julius Clark, Charles Andrew Gardner, and Anish Jethmalani have been named Company Members at the theater, effective immediately. The Hypocrites, Paramount Earn Top Honors at 47th Jeff Awards

ATC Adds Performances of THE ROYALE, Now Playing Through 3/29

To accommodate the high demand for tickets, American Theater Company (ATC), 1909 W. Byron Street, has added performances for its critically acclaimed Chicago premiere of The Royale by Marco Ramirez (Marvel's Daredevil, Orange is the New Black), directed by ATC Ensemble Member Jaime Castañeda. This newly revised script premieres in Chicago prior to its production at The Bush Theatre in London.
