SPIDER-MAN co-book writer Glen Berger has written a 'tell-all' book about the behind-the-scenes battle that took place during the development of the Broadway musical SPIDER-MAN TURN OFF THE DARK. Titled 'The Song of Spider-Man: The Inside Story of the Most Controversial Musical in Broadway History', the book will hit shelves on November 5th from Simon & Schuster Publishing. Julie Taymor Gets Better Billing as a Result of SPIDER-MAN Lawsuit
According to the New York Times, Julie Taymor came out of her lawsuit against the producers of SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK with better billing. As of March 2011, when Taymor was officially fired as director of the musical, Taymor was credited on the show playbill with 'Original Direction By' just under Philip Wm. McKinley, who was credited as director. Now as per terms in the settlement, Taymor is listed as director above McKinley, who's credit has been changed to 'additional direction by.'

It features music and lyrics by 22-time Grammy® Award-winners Bono and The Edge, direction by Philip William McKinley (The Boy From Oz), and a book co-written by Julie Taymor, Glen Berger(Underneath The Lintel) and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Fantastic Four and Spider-Man comics, "Big Love"). SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK has made headlines for, among many other things, completely overhauling the original version of the bohemoth musical during a lengthy preview period. In an interview with the New York Times, the show's creative team today said that there might be more changes headed for SPIDER-MAN.
