Sarasota Contemporary Dance Presents DANCE MAKERS This Weekend
This year, “Dance Makers'' features new imaginative dance pieces created by nationally acclaimed contemporary choreographers, including Dazaun Soleyn, Jennifer Nugent, Adele Myers and Christal Brown. Dance Makers will also revive Kinda Cagey, the fan-favorite grand piano and dancer duet from SCD’s 2nd season, performed by Leymis Bolaños Wilmott and Francis Schwartz.

Live Arts Announces 2018-2019 Season, Including ANALOGY TRILOGY, Y, and More
Bill T. Jones, MacArthur Genius Award and National Medal of Arts awardee and Artistic Director of New York Live Arts, and Janet Wong, Associate Artistic Director, announced the New York Live Arts' 2018-2019 season today. "We look to artists to reflect, reframe, reimagine, and represent the world to us. We hope that in turn we respond with empathy and, dare we say, compassion," states Bill T. Jones. "New York Live Arts will premiere eight New York and/or world premieres this season including the much anticipated "Y" by Randjelovi?/Stryker Resident Commissioned Artist RoseAnne Spradlin," says Janet Wong. "We will also bring back Jack Ferver's highly successful 'Everything Is Imaginable,' which premiered at New York Live Arts' this past season. For the 2019 edition of the Live Ideas Festival we will look at artificial intelligence and our role in shaping the future," she adds.
Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company And Flushing Town Hall Present CrossCurrent V With Guest Artists
Flushing Town Hall (FTH), the Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company are pleased to collaborate with Queens College Dance Program to present an unprecedented lineup for CrossCurrent V, featuring an upcoming work Yin Mei, the coordinator of the program, and emergent choreographer dancer Huiwang Zhang, as well as the new works of Nai-Ni Chen on Sunday, April 15th at 2 PM. A panel discussion moderated by Ellen Kodedak, the Executive Director of Flushing Town Hall, will follow the one-hour performance.
THE AMERICAN DANCE FESTIVAL Continues its 84th Season and 40th Year in North Carolina
This week, the American Dance Festival (ADF) presents the debuts of Roy Assaf and Ate9 Dance Company on Tuesday, July 18 at 8:00pm and Jennifer Nugent and Paul Matteson and Kimberly Bartosik/daela on Saturday, July 22 and Sunday, July 23 at 7:00pm and 9:00pm. Mark Morris Dance Group performs with live music by the Durham Symphony, North Carolina Master Chorale, and members of the Mark Morris Dance Group Music Ensemble on Friday, July 21 at 8:00pm and Saturday, July 22 at 7:00pm. Mark Morris Dance Group will also present a Saturday Children's Matinee on July 22 at 1:00pm. FREE ADF School Tours continue through July 21 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, at 9:15am and 11:15am.
