South Bend Civic Theatre Announces Staff Changes
Kat Quirk Bobbs has joined the Civic as the new Production Manager. Kat is responsible for guiding all productions through their five-month development process. She is the hub connecting the staff to production teams, cast, and crew. Kat also manages building scheduling, rentals, inspections, and maintenance.
BWW Review: OLIVER! at SOUTH BEND CIVIC THEATRE
To continue their tradition of producing a classic musical during the summer, the South Bend Civic Theatre presented Oliver! with a cast of more than 40 people to filled audiences. The tone of the show was instantly set with a wonderfully charming London bridge designed by Jeff Barrick. Unfortunately the tone was then smashed by a horribly electric sounding music track of the overture with trumpets that were more reminiscent of synthesizers than anything else. This confusing clash continued throughout the production leading to a mixed bag of a show. More clarification on that thought later.
FREAKY FRIDAY Comes to The Round Barn Theatre
In the musical "Freaky Friday" the plot's main twist, a mother and a daughter magically switching bodies, is a nightmare for the characters, but a dream come true for the actors! Imagine -- establishing one character then getting to switch with a fellow actor and playing a totally different character.
