BIO

Jennifer Malenke recently appeared on the First National Tour of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! She is a proud member of the Broadway Inspirational Voices (www.bivoices.org) and is the co-founder of Broadway Babysitters, LLC (www.broadwaybabysitters.com). She most recently appeared in "The Last Five Years" (Cathy) opposite Nicolas Dromard at the Music Theatre of Connecticut, and "The Gold" (Gabrielle) at NYMF, "Uncle Jack" (Helena), a reading for the Manhattan Theatre Club with John Cullem, Daniel Jenkins, and Geoffrey Owens, “The Act” at 54 Below in NYC, directed by Will Nunziata with Cady Huffman, Randy Graff, Mamie Parris, Julia Murney, Anna Chlumsky, Karen Mason, and more, the 30th annual STAGE Benefit in LA with Betty Buckley, Helen Reddy, Mitzi Gaynor, Richard Chamberlain, John McDaniel, Donna McKechnie, and many more, and “Ionescopade!” at the Odyssey Theatre. She was just heard singing on ABC’s “The Neighbors” musical episode, a session that she recoded with Alan Menken. She also sang for John Williams at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in a number for a new musical called “The Sandman.” She was last seen in MTG’s “Chess,” Sacramento Music Circus’s “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” at the Cosmopolitan Cabaret, and is frequently seen in the Upright Citizens Brigade’s Gravid Water series, where she has acted opposite Matt Walsh, Tami Sagher, Ian Roberts, Dan Bakkadahl, Thomas Middleditch, and Peter Grosz. She was recently seen on NBC’s “The Voice” as a backup singer for Florence and the Machine, and also recently featured in a pilot about her life called “The Power of Music” in which she sang a duet with Josh Groban. She was also a judge on ABC’s series “High School Musical: Get In the Picture” with Nick Lachey.





Jen was proud to be in the Tony-winning Broadway revival of “Into the Woods” starring Vanessa Williams and John McMartin, written and directed by James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim. She just played Meg in Musical Theatre Guild’s “Little Women,” and also played Young Belle in “Little Me” opposite Jason Graae. This year she played Maude in “For the Record: Coen Brothers” at Show at Barre in Los Angeles; Grizabella in “Cats for Cats” at the Orpheum, a benefit with Fred Willard, and Cinderella in Lucid by Proxy’s “Into the Woods” directed by Calvin Remsberg and starring Anthony Geary. She was featured in the Long Beach Symphony’s “Sondheim and Bernstein” concert.

Jen has been seen on “Dr. Phil,” “The Game,” and “Cold Case,” and the film “Take Care,” directed by Scott Tanner Jones. She originated the role of Barbara in the world premiere of “Twice Upon a Time,” written and directed by England’s “Master of Farce,” Ray Cooney, and starring Millicent Martin at CLOSBC in Redondo Beach. She also originated the role of the Bride in Michael John LaChiusa’s world premiere of“Hotel C’est L’amour” at Noah Wyle’s Blank Theatre Company in Los Angeles, also starring Vicki Lewis.

Jen has been seen in many regional productions: LA: “The Pirates of Penzance” (Mabel) starring Rex Smith, Musical Theatre West Long Beach; Sondheim’s “Saturday Night” (Helen), Musical Theatre West. PA: “Into the Woods” (Cinderella) Fulton Opera House. NY: “Cats” (Jellylorum) Gateway Playhouse; “Kiss Me, Kate” (Lois Lane) Gateway Playhouse; “The Woman Upstairs” (Mother) starring Alison Frasier and Kate Shindle, NYMF. Chicago: “big, the musical” (Abigail/Susan), directed by Gary Griffin, Drury Lane Oakbrook; “Carousel” (Carrie) Drury Lane Oakbrook, plus numerous others at the Northlight Theatre and the Theatre at the Center. She does session work in LA, singing in movies such as “Dance Flick” among others.

Jen has ben featured in the “Sparkle” series in Palm Springs with Carol Channing, Joann Worley, and Lorna Luft. Sheappeared in “Les Girls,” a breast cancer awareness concert singing with Wayne Brady, Sam Harris, and Busy Phillips. She has done World AIDS Day concerts in NYC with people such as Rosie O’Donnell, Ben Vereen, Eden Espinosa, and Laura Benanti. She also sings at Show at Barre, Upright Cabaret, Musical Mondays, 88’s Cabaret, First and Hope, and The Coterie in Los Angeles. Jen has done numerous voiceovers and commercials, and was a member of the Grant Park Chorus in Chicago. She has taught voice and piano at the Studio New Canaan in Connecticut, at the MGray Music Academy (run by Macy Gray) in LA, and at the Burbank Music Academy, and now teaches privately. She graduated with a BM in Vocal Performance from Millikin University. She also has worked at Disneyland in the shows "Snow White," “Minnie’s Flygirls” and “Citizens of Buena Vista Street.” She is a very blessed girl.
