GYPSY will play at the John W. Engeman Theatre on Long Island through October 29. A musical theatre classic, GYPSY follows the story of Louise, who went from an awkward young girl to famous burlesque star Gypsy Rose Lee. See the life of sisters June and Louis and their overbearing stage mother Rose. The show features classic songs such as 'Let Me Entertain You,' 'Everything's Coming Up Roses,' and 'If Mama Was Married.' GYPSY has a book by Arthur Laurents, music by Jule Styne, and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.

Northport's exquisite John W. Engeman Theatre does it again with a stellar version of the iconic Laurents/Styne/Sondheim musical Gypsy. The Tony winner runs at the Long Island venue through October 29th excellently directed by Engeman vet Igor Goldin boasting an outstanding cast. And I know you are probably saying that there are showings of this everywhere you look. However, when you have a production like this, it definitely warrants another visit.

In another hit for Long Island's John W. Engeman Theatre, Tony nominee The Full Monty delivers a lively production like its Broadway predecessor. This wonderful incarnation, directed superbly by Engeman newbie KEITH ANDREWS, runs through March 5th at the gorgeous Northport venue. The tale centers on a group of steel workers who were laid-off from their job and we follow them trying to get back on their feet and overcome insecurities.

In need of quick cash and low on prospects, six unemployed Buffalo steelworkers come up with the outrageous idea to put on a strip act after seeing their wives' enthusiasm for a touring company of Chippendales. As they prepare for the big night, working through their fears, self-consciousness and anxieties, they overcome their inner demons and find strength in their camaraderie.

The John W. Engeman Theater's production of The Music Man, running March 27 - May 18, tells the story of fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill and his plans to con the people of River City, Iowa. He sells them instruments and promises to train the townspeople to be a professional band. Hill, who doesn't know a trombone from a treble clef, plans to skip town with the money without giving any music lessions at all - until he falls in love with Marian the librarian.
