CNN, a division of Turner, will be adding five new Original Series to its slate in 2018, it was announced today at the Turner Upfront presentation in New York City. Detroit 1963: Once in a Great City; American Heiress: The Patty Hearst Story; 1968: The Year That Changed America; Kennedys: An American Dynasty and Pope will join the network's diverse portfolio of award-winning, critically-acclaimed nonfiction programming.
CNN's Jeffrey Toobin to Host Bideawee Ball 2017

Bideawee, a leading pet welfare organization serving metropolitan New York and Long Island, will host its Annual Bideawee Ball on Monday, May 22, 2017 at The Pierre Hotel in New York City from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Jeffrey Toobin, New York Times bestselling author and CNN legal analyst, will serve as the 2017 host of the gala and 13-year old Bideawee volunteer Casey Galishoff, who sponsored the rescue of 41 dogs, will be a special Junior Honoree.

USC Libraries Name Finalists for 29th-Annual Scripter Award

The USC Libraries have named the finalists for the 29th-annual USC Libraries Scripter Award. Since 1988, Scripter has honored the authors of printed works alongside the screenwriters who adapt their stories. Last year, the USC Libraries inaugurated a new Scripter award, for television adaptation. Television and film finalists compete in separate categories.
