BWW Review: Hershey Felder in MAESTRO: LEONARD BERNSTEIN
Hershey Felder projects the persona of Leonard Bernstein and delves into the man behind the music, examining the musical and personal influences that shaped the great American composer/conductor. The musical selections begin and end with WEST SIDE STORY, and feature songs from his other Broadway shows (ON THE TOWN, CANDIDE), but provide a good balance with his classical, albeit lesser known, compositions.
Hershey Felder Returns to Pasadena Playhouse with New Work: LINCOLN, AN AMERICAN STORY
The Pasadena Playhouse (Sheldon Epps, Artistic Director and Stephen Eich, Executive Director) announced that, by popular demand, Hershey Felder will return to The Pasadena Playhouse with a special presentation of the world premiere of LINCOLN - AN AMERICAN STORY for Actor and Symphony Orchestra which will be performed in front of a 45-piece orchestra, preceded by his tour-de-force works, MONSIEUR CHOPIN - the love story of Frederic Chopin and the authoress George Sand, featuring Chopin's most beautiful piano music, and MAESTRO: LEONARD BERNSTEIN - the hit production that has played nationwide.
Gershwin, Chopin Shows to Conclude Geffen Playhouse Season
The Geffen Playhouse will conclude its 2006/2007 season with George Gershwin Alone, written and performed by actor, playwright and Steinway Concert Artist Hershey Felder (composer, Fairytale, a musical; Les Anges de Paris, Suite for Violin and Piano).
