Jeff Murray is currently playing Harold in "Orphans" at the Fells Point Corner Theatre (FPCT). Last season, he starred there as Shelly Levene in "Glengarry Glen Ross", Max Tarasov in "Superior Donuts" and "Carmichael in "A Behanding in Spokane"; in earlier years at FPCT, he played Sterling in "Mauritius" and The Old Man in "Fool for Love". Other notable recent Baltimore stage roles include Richard Nixon in "Frost/Nixon", Officer O'Hara in "Arsenic & Old Lace", and Geoffrey in "Six Degrees of Separation", all with the Vagabond Players; Aegeon in the Reisterstown Theatre Project production of Shakespeare's "Comedy of Errors"; and Manny Weiss in "Brooklyn Boy" with the Jewish Theatre Workshop;
Prominent roles in the Washington, D.C., area included George Pye in the 1st Stage presentation of "Humble Boy"; Aaron Levinsky in the Port City Playhouse production of "Nuts"; St. Clair Byfield in Dominion Stage's "Glorious!"; James Tyrone in the Rockville Little Theatre staging of "Long Day's Journey Into Night"; Thurston Wheelis (and nine other characters) in the Little Theater of Alexandria production of "Greater Tuna"; Nikita Khrushchev in the Heritage Theatre Company staging of "The Missiles of October"; Capt. Matthew Markinson in the Zemfira Stage production of "A Few Good Men"; and Juror #4 in "Twelve Angry Jurors" at Laurel Mill Playhouse.
Jeff is also active in film, video, print and voice-over productions in the Baltimore and Washington region, and is sought after for his wide mastery of dialects. A retired Foreign Service Officer, Jeff's long career included assignments as press spokesman and cultural attaché at U.S. diplomatic posts in Eastern and Western Europe, Latin America and South Asia. In addition to acting the part of a diplomat, he performed in comedies and dramas with English-speaking theater troupes in New Delhi, Lisbon and southern Italy. He is fluent in Italian and Portuguese, and has been trained in Russian, Serbo-Croatian and French.
