Guys and Dolls features music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows. It is based on "The Idyll of Miss Sarah Brown" and "Blood Pressure" - two short stories by Damon Runyon, - and also borrows characters and plot elements from other Runyon stories - most notably "Pick the Winner". Historian George Muschamp to Helm 1776 at Gettysburg Community Theatre
Gettysburg Community Theatre, the non-profit 501c3 organization located in the original Elks Lodge building at 49 York Street within the first block of Lincoln Square in historic downtown Gettysburg, will present 1776 the musical, to celebrate the 240th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration Of Independence. Performances will be held at GCT Fridays and Saturdays at 7pm and Sundays at 2pm July 15-31, 2016. GCT only seats 80. Limited Reserved Seating Tickets are $18 plus tax/fees of the Gettysburg Borough Amusement Tax. The Man Behind the Curtain for NNE Rep's ARMS AND THE MAN, 6/5-14
For its tenth season, the Northern New England Repertory Theatre Company (NNE Rep) presents George Bernard Shaw's romantic comedy Arms and the Man on the Sawyer Center stage at Colby-Sawyer College. In this delicious romantic confection, Shaw's barbed wit targets themes of love, honor, and illusions, and serves up laughs aplenty at the foibles of human nature. NNE Rep's production of Arms and the Man will run for seven performances from June 5th through June 14th.
