ADG Film Society To Screen MARY POPPINS On April 28
Film Society's 2019 Screening Series will launch with the original Oscar-winning Disney masterpiece MARY POPPINS (1964), at the Egyptian Theatre on Sunday, April 28th at 5:30 pm. The annual 2019 Screening Series 'Production Design: Designers On Design,' highlighting the work of renowned Production Designers and their creative collaborations, is in association with American Cinematheque and sponsored by The Hollywood Reporter.

The Art Directors Guild (ADG) Film Society and the American Cinematheque are co-hosting the annual 2019 Screening Series “Production Design: Designers On Design” highlighting the work of renowned Production Designers and their creative collaborations. The monthly series will run from April through August at the Egyptian (6712 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood) with all screenings starting at 5:30 pm. Moderating the screenings are Production Designers THOMAS A. WALSH ADG, JOHN MUTOADG, and JOHN IACOVELLI ADG. The screening series is sponsored by The Hollywood Reporter. Just in time for the holiday season, a special edition of "20/20" gives viewers an inside look at "Mary Poppins Returns," the sequel to the classic 1964 film starring Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke. In the special, ABC News' Chris Connelly sits down for the first prime-time television interviews with Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda, stars of the sequel. They open up about both the responsibility and joy they feel about stepping into their characters and the iconic world of Mary Poppins, which hasn't been portrayed on the big screen in over 50 years. The hour also features an exclusive one-on-one conversation between Van Dyke and Miranda on "Mary Poppins Returns" and Van Dyke's excitement to share the Mary Poppins magic with a new generation. "Mary Poppins Returns: Behind the Magic - A Special Edition of 20/20" airs Thursday, Nov. 22 (8:00-9:00 p.m. EST), on ABC.

The national festival dedicated to groups working with elementary and middle school aged young people, ran from January 16 -18, 2009. Schumacher's presentation (on Sunday, January 18), much like his book, enlightened more than 1,500 theater lovers about what goes into putting on a Broadway show. Child actor Henry Hodges, who starred as ?Michael Banks' in the original Broadway cast of Disney & Cameron Mackintosh's Mary Poppins joined Schumacher. Schumacher's much heralded book, How Does the Show Go On?, was originally released in 2007 and went on to sell over 50,000 copies. A second edition was released in late 2008 and has been updated to include Broadway's The Little Mermaid and the stage production of the mega-hit High School Musical. A library edition of How Does the Show Go On? is also available. The book, written with Jeff Kurtti, gives readers the opportunity to meet the cast of characters who work onstage and behind the scenes to deliver unforgettable performances, and explore the inner workings of the theater building itself.
