The American Dance Guild Festival Honors Modern Dance Innovators With 33 Choreographers Over Four Days
The American Dance Guild Festival 2019, Shaping the Now: Dance in Uncertain Times, will honor dance educator and advocate Jody Gottfried Arnhold and choreographic luminaries Gus Solomons jr and Abdel R. Salaam, co-founder and director of Forces of Nature Dance Theater. There will be four days of performances by thirty-three contemporary choreographers from across the United States. The Festival will take place October 3 through October 6 at the Ailey Citigroup Theater, 405 West 55th Street, in New York City. Gloria McLean, President of the American Dance Guild, announced today the lineup for ADG Festival 2019, Shaping the Now: Dance in Uncertain Times. Honors go to dance educator and advocate Jody Gottfried Arnhold, and choreographic luminaries Gus Solomons jr and Abdel R. Salaam, co-founder and director of Forces of Nature Dance Theater, complementing four days of performances by thirty-three contemporary choreographers from across the United States. The Game Awards 2016 Comes to Los Angeles
The award show season officially kicked off with The Game Awards 2016. The Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles was filled with some of the most notable names in gaming, all on hand to celebrate the video game industry's biggest night. The show, which was live streamed on Twitter Live, Facebook Live, YouTube, as well as in virtual reality, represented a look back on the best games of 2016 while giving exclusive sneak peeks to the most anticipated games in the new year.
SPRING AWAKENING to Run 2/28-3/8 at Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center
Five-time Tony Award-winning lighting designer, Brian MacDevitt, and internationally acclaimed choreographers, Sara Pearson and Patrik Widrig, direct Spring Awakening, the multi-layered rock musical that explores the coming-of-age of a group of teenagers living in a 19th century German village, February 28- March 8 at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center. Based on Frank Wedekind's 1891 controversial play of the same title, Spring Awakening epitomizes the struggle between repressive patriarchy and the purity of nature and delves deep into issues surrounding abuse, pregnancy, sexuality and suicide- all subjects relevant to contemporary life.

The new American musical Hands on a Hardbody just celebrated opening night last night, March 21, at Broadway's Brooks AtkinsonTheatre (256 West 47th Street). The cast and creative team gathered at the Roseland Ballroom with their real-life counterparts from the documentary on which the musical is based. Roger Bart, Anna Chlumsky and Raul Esparza to Guest Star on LAW & ORDER: SVU, Fall 2013
Award-winning actors Roger Bart, Anna Chlumsky and Raul Esparza will guest star on an upcoming episode of "Law & Order: SVU." The episode, titled "Twenty-Five Acts" will air next fall and centers on the author of a best-selling erotic novel (Chlumsky) who accuses a high-profile talk show host (Bart) of a brutal rape. The SVU detectives face an uphill battle when they find that her account of the rape is exactly like the chapters in her book, and along with the DA's office (Esparza), they struggle to keep the case from turning into a media circus.

The star of Hairspray, Gypsy, The Women, Twentieth Century, and founding member of Charles Busch's Theater-in-Limbo, decided, for one night only, to throw caution to the wind and just go crazy with new material, old material and of course new clothes! Our BWW cameras were there, of course, to catch all the fun!
