Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET), an award-winning theatre dedicated to the creation and production of extraordinary theatre, presents A View from the Bridge, a tragedy in which the limits of family bonds and personal honor are tested. Written by Arthur Miller (The Crucible), A View from the Bridge focuses on the poverty of an American working class family comes face to face with the sheer destitution of their immigrant cousins, desperate to make a new life when an admirable longshoreman takes in two if his wife's Italian cousins who have been smuggled into the country. One falls in love with his niece and a 1950s plot becomes more topical than ever!

Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) presents I Am (Not) My Mother, based on true stories from and about the women of Frederick. Written by Suzanne Beal and directed by MET Associate Artistic Director Gene Fouche the show made its World Premiere on the MET stage last July to extremely positive reviews and audience response. DC Metro Theatre Arts gave the original production four stars and Charlie Smith emplored, 'everyone go now', in his review for Want2Dish. Since the World Premiere last year the show has received new productions in Baltimore and in Philadelphia (Society Hill Playhouse). Given the tremendously positive response the play has received the Maryland Ensemble Theatre is bringing the show back for a limited run, July 12 through 21 at MET. Maryland Ensemble Theatre Opens IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE: A LIVE RADIO PLAY, 12/9

Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) continues its fifteeenth anniversary season this December with a festive new take on a holiday classic with, It's A Wonderful LIfe: A Live Radio Play. This award-winning adaptation brings Bedford Falls to life by way of an on stage 1940s radio broadcast, and you're invited to be a member of the live studio audience! Since its premier in 1996 playwright Joe Landry's It's A Wonderful LIfe: A Live Radio Play has been produced hundreds of times across the US and been heralded as, 'One of the best holiday shows around.' (Chicago Sun-Times). The story, true to Frank Capra's 1946 film classic starring James Stewart and Donna Reed, is told by six actors performing dozen of characters and all the foley sound effects in traditional old-fashioned radio style.

Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) will present the World Premiere of the new play, I Am (Not) My Mother, based on true stories from and about the women of Frederick. Written by Suzanne Beal and directed by MET Associate Artistic Director Gené Fouché the show runs from July 6 through the 22nd at the MET, located in the historic FSK Hotel at 31 W Patrick Street. Proceeds from the production will support the programs of the Women's Giving Circle of Frederick.

The title says it all, the Jamboree is sure to have you busting a gut, tapping your toes, singing along and pulling the straw from your teeth. The show will feature hilarious original sketches and a revolving roster of guest artists and musical acts. Directed by MET Artistic Director Tad Janes and Associate Artistic Directors Gené Fouché and Julie Herber, the show runs from tonight, May 10 through June 3 every Thursday through Sunday at the MET, located in the historic FSK hotel at 31 W Patrick Street.

Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) presents a new world premiere adaptation of Sophocles' tragic classic greek tragedy, Antigone, which pits the courageous title character against King Creon and the laws of Thebes in defense of her brother's honor with fatal consequences. Antigone will run from March 22nd to April 15th every Thursday through Sunday except Easter (4/8) at Maryland Ensemble Theatre (31 W. Patrick St. Frederick MD 21701). All shows are at 8pm except Sundays at 7pm and one Sunday matinee at 2pm on April 1 which will be followed by a talk back with the writer, director, cast and special guest Linda Pappas Funsch, a Middle East scholar from Frederick Community College . Tickets are $15 - $24 (except $5 preview performance on 3/22) and may be purchased online at marylandensemble.org, by phone at (301) 694-4744 or in person at the MET box office. The opening will be celebrated on Sunday, March 25th at 6pm with a pre-show reception catered by The Greene Turtle preceding the performance at 7pm.
