Jason is Artistic Director of National Players, based at Olney Theatre Center, where he also serves as Associate Artistic Director and Director of Education. For Olney, Jason has directed GODSPELL, THE TEMPEST and NEVILLE'S ISLAND. For the Players Mr. Jones has written and directed an original play based on Homer's ODYSSEY, as well as directed THE TEMPEST, THE COMEDY OF ERRORS, ROMEO AND JULIET, ANIMAL FARM, and OF MICE AND MEN. At Olney Theatre Center Jason has devised a long-term strategy to make Olney Theatre Center a nationally recognized model for the integration of theatre and education. Previously as an Artistic Associate at The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, Jason directed THE SERVANT OF TWO MASTERS, THE COMEDY OF ERRORS, THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE (ABRIDGED), THE MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR and THE GROUCH, along with nearly a dozen abridged classical plays for their educational touring companies. Other directing credits include LATER THE SAME EVENING (Boston University Opera Institute), PEER GYNT (InCite Arts Festival), FALLUJAH (Kennedy Center / ACTF), A NUMBER (Whistler in the Dark), MURDERING MARLOWE (In Actu Theatre), TWELFTH NIGHT (Shakespeare Center Los Angeles). Jason has directed and taught at Boston University, Purdue University, University of Alabama at Birmingham, Fairleigh Dickinson Univeristy, Nebraska Wesleyan University, Missouri State University and the University of Scranton. Jason was twice Staff Repertory Director with The Acting Company, and he is the co-creator and director of VERY VERY, a Shakespeare rock show based on AS YOU LIKE IT that is currently in commercial development. Jason is a proud graduate of the Boston University School of Theatre.
