Random Acts Announces RATFest Schedule

Random Acts has announced the schedule for this month's Digital Fringe Festival, RATFest! The Random Acts of Theatre Festival will stream to several channels each night, including Youtube and Facebook. Donations will be accepted, with proceeds going to The Actors Fund.

Random Acts announced today their 2020 goal of becoming a certified 501(c)(3) non-profit. The group will raise funds throughout the year, beginning March 7 at the MADE WITH LOVE Craft and Arts Fair at Green Bean Nursery in Bucktown.

Random Acts has announced Savanna Rae as the company's newest artistic associate. Rae joins the team after appearing in The Bone House, The Laramie Project and columbinus with the company. To celebrate the occasion, Random Acts presents her solo play DAUGHTERS OF IRE for one-night only on Sunday, August 25 at The Crowd Theatre (3935 N. Broadway, Chicago).

The event, set to feature some of Chicago's best talent, will take place on Sunday, November 4 at 7:30pm at Pride Films and Plays' Broadway space. Jack Hickey Steps Down as Artistic Director of Oak Park Festival Theatre

After more than 15 years with Oak Park Festival Theatre, Jack Hickey will be stepping down as Artistic Director on March 1, 2018. Jack has served as Artistic Director of the Company since 2004, where he has acted in or directed over 25 productions, and overseen the production of more than 40 shows. Jack will now serve as Artistic Director Emeritus.

Today, The Hawk Chicago announced nominations for the inaugural Chicago Theatre Awards, a contest in which all winners are chosen entirely by audience vote. The first round, which invited write-in submissions, ended June 23rd. The official nominees were decided by almost 1,600 voters.

The Other Theatre Company (TOTC) announces the Chicago premiere of Threesome, written by Yussef El Guindi and direction by Jason Gerace, April 14 - May 21 at the Greenhouse Theater Center, 2257 N. Lincoln Ave. Previews are Friday, April 14, Saturday, April 15, Thursday, April 20, Friday, April 21 and Saturday, April 22 at 8 p.m. Opening day is Sunday, April 23 at 2 p.m. The performance is 85 minutes with no intermission. The regular performance schedule, April 27 - May 21, is Thursdays and Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 3 and 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Tickets for previews are $25 and for the regular run $30.
