LAMDA Raises £230,000 At Inaugural Fundraising Gala Hosted By Benedict Cumberbatch
On Sunday 23 June, LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) held its first biennial fundraising gala, hosted by LAMDA President and alumnus Benedict Cumberbatch CBE and LAMDA Chairman, The Rt. Hon Shaun Woodward. VIP guests, LAMDA alumni and current students enjoyed an evening of entertainment at the drama school's West London campus. £230,000 was raised, which will support LAMDA's ongoing work to ensure a wider group of young people can experience world-class Conservatoire training.

Both couples are stuck in a bit of a rut and are hoping that swapping partners might help them recreate the electric chemistry they initially had together.

Few actors come with sleuthing skills as sharp as Jason Durr who continues his celebrated run as the diminutive detective Hercule Poirot in the Queen of Crime, Agatha Christie's, espionage classic Black Coffee this autumn. As the Belgian investigator, Jason is now set to get his "little grey cells" working in the celebrated crime collective's latest production at the Theatre Royal Glasgow from Monday 3 November.
HARRY POTTER's Georgina Leonidas to Star in BLACK COFFEE at the Wyvern Theatre This Autumn
Georgina Leonidas, who portrayed Katie Bell in the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Parts 1 and 2, will star in Agatha Christie's Black Coffee at the Wyvern Theatre this September. Ahead of her performances in Swindon, the actress made a visit to Wiltshire and one of the iconic Harry Potter film locations, Lacock Abbey.

Heartbeat's Jason Durr stars as Agatha Christie character, Hercule Poirot, in Black Coffee at New Victoria Theatre, starting August 14. Joining Durr is Harry Potter actress Georgina Leonidas, Not Going Out's Deborah Grand, and Coronation Street's Oliver Mellor, Peak Practice's Gary Mavers, and Soldier Soldier's Ben Nealon.

Black Coffee is the first play that Agatha Christie wrote for the stage back in 1929, when the show is set. Sir Claud Amory summons the famous Belgian detective, Hercule Poirot, and his trusted friend Captain Hastings to his London house to investigate who has stolen a formula from his safe. Upon arriving, Sir Claud is found dead in his library so the enquiry turns to into a murder investigation as well.
