For the first time in its history, the French Institute Alliançe Francaise (FIAF) honored two women at its annual Trophée des Arts Gala on Monday, November 4th at The Plaza Hotel in NYC. This year's event honored actress and musician Charlotte Gainsbourg, who was recognized as someone who exemplifies FIAF's mission of French-American friendship and cross-cultural exchange. FIAF also fêted Ardian president Dominique Senequier, who received the Pilier d'Or for her contributions as a leading businesswoman to the French-American community.
Works & Process Announces Rotunda Projects Gala
Works & Process, the performing-arts series at the Guggenheim, announces a new initiative, Works & Process Rotunda Projects. Buildingon its long tradition of commissioning performances for the unique architecture of the Guggenheim's Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Peter B. Lewis Theater, Works & Process will expand into the museum's rotunda.
Goya Los Caprichos Opens at National Arts Club
On Thursday January 8th, the National Arts Club and its Office of Fine Arts, as directed by Dianne B. Bernhard, presented a rare series of etchings and aquatint, Los Caprichos, from the Spanish Master Francisco de Goya. The free exhibition, titled Francisco de Goya y Lucientes: Los Caprichosruns until January 31st.

On Monday, September 29th, Cornelia Guest, Amanda Hearst, Anne Hearst McInerney, Patricia Hearst Shaw, Gillian Hearst Simonds and Kimberly Rockefellerhosted a reception for 400 and a dinner for 104 guests at The National Arts Club to celebrate the opening of 'Charles James: Beneath the Dress.' The exhibition of 100 fashion and erotic drawings from the private collection of R. Couri Hay, photographs by Anton Perich and a screening of the Charles James documentary by Angela Bernhard Thomas will run until October 5th.
