Queer|Art|Film Announces Summer 2020 Season

Queer|Art, New York City's home for the creative and professional development of LGBTQ+ artists, is pleased to announce the upcoming summer season of Queer|Art|Film, taking place online May 25th-August 17th.
Palm Beach Dramaworks Launches 16th Season with PICNIC Tonight

PICNIC, the 1953 Pulitzer Prize-winning play by William Inge about sexual repression, longing and disillusionment, and the narrow-minded limitations of life in a small Midwestern town, launches Palm Beach Dramaworks' 2015-2016 season on Friday, October 9 (8pm) at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre. Performances continue through November 8, with specially priced previews tonight and tomorrow, October 7 and 8.

Lincoln Center Film Society Presents 20th Century Fox Films, Beg. Tonight

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced Fasten Your Seatbelts (Part 2): 20th Century Fox (today, August 9-15), a summertime big screen showcase of some of the movie studio's most beloved and unforgettable films. Presented via DCP restorations and beautiful studio library 35mm prints, with a focus on a single artist and their creative contribution to each film, Fasten Your Seatbelts is sure to be a truly rare movie-going event. In the summer of 2010, FSLC presented the first Fasten Your Seatbelts series to coincide with and celebrate 20th Century Fox's 75th Anniversary. The popularity of that series, including screenings of classics like ALL ABOUT EVE, M*A*S*H and ALIEN all but demanded that Film Society and the studio present a 'sequel' at some point.

Now, word is out in the New York Times that a starry reading of PICNIC took place on Monday featuring 'Among those reading were the Academy Award-winning actress Melissa Leo ('The Fighter') as the widow Flo; Hayden Panettiere (TV's 'Heroes') as her well-behaved daughter Madge; Laura Innes ('ER') as her neighbor Rosemary; and Seth Numrich ('War Horse') as the college student Alan, the role that was Paul Newman's Broadway debut in 1953.'
CHATTER: Bagert Bringing PICNIC & KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN Back to Bway?

Broadway producer Darren Bagert has just revealed that there are plans to bring both PICNIC and KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN back to the Great White Way. The Tony-winner mentioned in a recent statement that a revival of PICNIC will arrive on Broadway in the 2011-12 season, featuring direction by Sam Gold. Additionally, Jose Rivera and Allan Baker are working onA new adaptation of SPIDER WOMAN, which is also scheduled to make it to Broadway in the 2011-12 season. Peter DuBois is on board to direct the production.
