Donna Byrne Quartet will be at the Spire Center for Performing Arts in downtown Plymouth, MA, Thursday, October 5, 2023, at 7:30 PM. This All-Star quartet, which also includes jazz pianist/composer Tim Ray and Alto saxophonist Mike Flanagan, will feature unique arrangements of American standards, jazz standards, Bossa Nova, and a few musical surprises.

Peak Performances kicks off its 2018-19 season with the world premiere of Hatuey: Memory of Fire, a rousing Afro-Cuban-Yiddish opera performed in English, Yiddish and Spanish, with music by Frank London, libretto by Elise Thoron, direction by Mary Birnbaum, and choreography by Maija Garcia.

In 2017, Guelph's Andrew McPherson and Toronto-based Lenka Lichtenberg first joined forces when they co-created a project called 'Lenkkodek', which combined material from Lenka's extensive catalogue with Andrew's remixing and production sensibilities. The result was a thorough reinvention of Lenka's material, exploring the worlds of dub, electronica, jazz and ambient music. The first track, 'Open my Eyes' was featured as CBC's Song of the Week, and, on the song 'Still Hopeful', the two artists created their first-ever original collaborative work.

Australian music collective, ali & the thieves tour their critically acclaimed narrative concert, LEONARD COHEN KOANS, across the USA and Canada this summer. The tour reaches New York City on Sunday July 1st at The Duplex Cabaret Theater with Ali Hughes singing lead vocals supported by MD Daryl Wallis, Adam Armstrong on bass and Greg Joseph on drums.

As part of Jazz Appreciation Month, Governor Doug Ducey has issued an official proclamation declaring April 2018 as Jazz Appreciation Month and April 30, 2018 as International Jazz Appreciation Day. Representing Governor Doug Ducey to present the Proclamation was Barry Wong, Director of the Governor's Office of Equal Opportunity. Mr. Wong read the proclamation to audiences at The Nash on March 29 at the Lewis Nash Pro Jam, with Lewis Nash and Doc Jones in attendance. The Proclamation will be on display at The Nash throughout the month.

Entertainers past and present will commemorate this mecca of modern Jewish culture, including Tony Babino, George Bettinger, Sir Frank London and Friends and special guest Star of the Yiddish Theatre, Joanne Borts. The gala takes place on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 6:30 pm in the Barbra Streisand and Milton Berle rooms of another hub of entertainment greats, the Friar's Club (57 East 55 Street, NYC).
