MOTHERS AND SONS Partners with Tyler Clementi Foundation for Talk Out Tonight
The new Broadway play Mothers and Sons from 4-time Tony Award winner Terrence McNally, now playing at the Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street), welcomes co-founder of The Tyler Clementi Foundation, Jane Clementi, who will be joined by Tony Award winning producer Paul Boskind (The Normal Heart) for a special post-show "Talk Out" discussion following tonight's, Wednesday, May 14th, evening performance. Jane Clementi is the mother of Tyler Clementi, the Rutgers University student whose suicide opened up an international dialogue about the bullying of LGBT youth. Since Tyler's death, the Clementi family has worked tirelessly to promote new stories of inclusion, dignity and acceptance for vulnerable youth and their families as way to honor the memory of their son, brother and friend. The discussion will begin shortly after Wednesday evening's 7pm performance, and all audience members are welcome to participate. On Wednesday, April 9, more than 270 friends of God's Love We Deliver gathered at the 11th Annual Authors In Kind. This literary luncheon, held at the Metropolitan Club, was emceed by Board Member, author extraordinaire and Authors In Kind founder, Linda Fairstein. Linda introduced each guest author, who then took the podium to share anecdotes and remarks about their work to the delight of our many guests. BARE the Musical Announces TalkOUT Series, Beginning 11/9
Speaking on behalf of the producers of the new musical BARE, Paul Boskind, who is organizing the series, is proud to announce that the show will host post-performance TalkOUTs throughout the run of the show. Beginning with the first preview, audiences at select performances will be invited to stay after the show to participate in a discussion with some of the foremost leaders in the fight for LGBT equality. These special guests will include Judy Shepard (Matthew Shepard Foundation), The Clementi Family (Tyler Clementi Foundation), Chuck Wolfe (The Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund), Hudson Taylor (Athlete Ally), Mitchell Gold (Faith in America), Travis Wall (choreographer of BARE, "So You Think You Can Dance") and cast members of BARE.
