Following a five month sold-out season off-Broadway, New York-based Canadian - born rapper Baba Brinkman is preparing to shake up Melbourne with The Rap Guide to Evolution at Arts Centre Melbourne's Fairfax Studio on Friday 6 June and Saturday 7 June 2014. As part of a national tour Arts Centre Melbourne, in association with Merrigong Theatre Company, presents a unique species of hip-hop theatre combining the wit, poetry and charisma of a great rapper with the accuracy of a scientific expert to communicate the facts of evolution and origins of hip-hop culture.

Soho Playhouse's EVOLUTIONARY TALES: A HIP-HOP THEATRE CYCLE Begins 5/31
SoHo Playhouse Inc. presents Evolutionary Tales: A Hip-Hop Theatre Cycle at The Players Theatre playing May 31 through June 23. Written and performed by Baba Brinkman, the Canadian rap artist and inventor of a new hybrid form of theater: part hip-hop concert, part stand up comedy, and part TED Talk. Evolutionary Tales: A Hip-Hop Theatre Cycle consists of Brinkman's three hit shows, Ingenious Nature, The Rap Guide To Evolution, and The Canterbury Tales Remixed, celebrating the evolutionary view of life in its endless forms.
INGENIOUS NATURE Offers Final Human Nature Talkback, 1/4
Off-Broadway's rap guide to dating, Ingenious Nature, led by Baba Brinkman with turntablism by Jamie Simmonds at the SoHo Playhouse (15 Vandam Street), is offering its final Human Nature Talkback during the last week of the show's run. The weekly Talkback Series has invited experts from the science community to speak to Ingenious Nature's audiences. On Friday, January 4, following the 7:30 PM performance, audience members are invited to stay for the post-performance talk back by guest speaker Christopher Chabris, Associate Professor of Psychology and Co-Director of the Neuroscience Program at Union College in Schenectady, NY. For his talk back, Dr. Chabris will be discussing his research on cognition, intelligence, and behavior genetics and taking questions from the audience.

Off-Broadway's rap guide to dating, Ingenious Nature, led by Baba Brinkman with turntablism by Jamie Simmonds at the SoHo Playhouse (15 Vandam Street), is offering a Human Nature Talkback Series with experts from the science community. On Thursday, December 20th, following the 7:30 PM performance, audience members are invited to stay for the post-performance talk back by guest speaker Dr. Jonathan Haidt, a Thomas Cooley Professor of Ethical Leadership, based in the Business and Society Program Area of NYU. Dr. Haidt will be discussing the intuitive foundations of morality - its emotional foundations, cultural variations, and developmental course.
