Spring Cabaret Announced At The Old Town School Of Folk Music
This Spring, Chicago Cabaret Professionals is presenting two unique concerts — Musical Mondays — that showcase the talents of more than 25 local cabaret artists. The all-ages concerts will be at Szold Hall, Old Town School of Folk Music, in Chicago's Lincoln Square neighborhood.

Lifeline Theatre Artistic Director Dorothy Milne Steps Down
As Lifeline Theatre continues its 35th season, long-time Artistic Director Dorothy Milne has announced she will transition out of her leadership role during the coming year. I love my job and I won't be leaving Lifeline, Milne said. I will still be an active ensemble member and volunteer. But I'm over 60 years old and I look forward to spending more time away from a desk.

Refuge Theatre Project Announces New Leadership and New Season
Refuge Theatre Project has announced leadership changes and programming for its third season, according to company co-founder Ross Egan. Christopher Pazdernik, who directed and choreographed the company's breakout production of High Fidelity: The Musical in February 2016 and more recently directed the Chicago premiere of Wicked City by Chad Beguelin and Matthew Sklar for Chicago Theatre Workshop, has been named Artistic Director, a position previously held by Egan. Egan, who founded the company two years ago with Morgan Egan, will move to Executive Director, a new position. Morgan Egan will continue as Managing Director.

One of New York's brightest new musicals written by members of the Millennial Generation will finally be seen in Chicago when the newly formed Refuge Theatre Project, a company dedicated to presenting ensemble pieces of new American musical writers, opens Next Thing You Know at The Den Theater in February. While musicals by millennials have received commercial productions in New York City, they've been largely unseen in Chicago. Though the area's vibrant theatre community is adventurous in producing new plays, when it comes to musicals local commercial producers and non-profit companies alike have mostly steered toward classics and shows written before the year 2000.

Refuge Theatre Project Presents Inaugural Season and Preview Concert
The newly formed Refuge Theatre Project, a company dedicated to the performance of ensemble based musical theatre, has announced its first season of two musicals, both to be performed at the Den Theatre, 1333 N. Milwaukee Ave., in Wicker Park. The musicals,Next Thing You Know by Joshua Salzman and Ryan Cunningham and Glory Days by James Gardiner and Nick Blaemire, will be previewed by Refuge ensemble members at a fund-raising concert to be held in The Cab at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont on Sunday, September 28th at 7 pm.
