Review: CONDO-MONIUM at New Theatre & Restaurant
The North American Premiere engagement for CONDO-MONIUM opened last week at Overland Park’s New Theatre & Restaurant with a super cast and direction by Dennis D. Hennessey for an extended run through April 8. CONDO-MONIUM is an updated farce from a very similar British show called FLAT OUT. Both versions are by UK Journalist and Playwright Jennifer Selway.

Therefore, the 2019 Kimmie Awards will shine the spotlight on "Illustrious Women," proudly saluting individuals who promote the message that all women have unique gifts and attributes which make them illustrious. To name a few of our honorees, the recipient of the Visionary Award is the beautiful and talented actress Megan Good, and television/music executive (creator of the Love N Hip Hop franchise) Mona Scott-Young will receive the Pinnacle Award. Men, we did not leave you out, Roger M. Bobb (president and CEO of Bobbcat Films and former executive vice president of Tyler Perry Productions) will be presented with the Luminary Award, and award winning singer/songwriter Vedo will receive the Trailblazer Award.

The Boston Modern Orchestra Project (BMOP), the nation's premier orchestra dedicated exclusively to commissioning, performing, and recording new orchestral music, continues the festivities for John Harbison's 80th year with a matinee concert dedicated to the distinguished Pulitzer Prize-winning American composer. Led by Artistic Director and Conductor Gil Rose, BMOP celebrates Harbison in a program featuring Harbison's Remembering Gatsby (Foxtrot for Orchestra), Concerto for Viola and Orchestra, and celebrated soprano soloist Dawn Upshaw singing his Milosz Songs and his Symphony No. 6.

Frenetic, intricate and relentlessly virtuosic dancing culminates in a revelation of the "almighty" through a saturation of the colour pink, as Artistic Director, Phillip Adams channels artist Yves Klein's monochrome paintings. Glory is presented in celebration of BalletLab's 20th anniversary year as part of Australia's biggest festival of contemporary dance, Dance Massive.
