Actors' Equity Announces Results Of National Council Election
Actors' Equity Association, the union which represents more than 51,000 professional stage actors and stage managers, announced the results of the 2018 National Council election. In total, 55 Council seats across all three regions and representing three (3) categories (principal actor, chorus actor and stage manager) were filled, effective immediately.

Center Theatre Group's production of the Tony Award-nominated "Other Desert Cities" by Jon Robin Baitz opens at the Mark Taper Forum on Sunday, December 9 at 7 p.m. The cast features Jeannie Berlin, Robert Foxworth, Robin Weigert, Michael Weston and JoBeth Williams. Annette Bening, who plays the famed feminist in playwright Joanna Murray-Smith's comedy The Female of the Species, will be sharing the Geffen Playhouse stage with a diverse group of acclaimed actors: David Arquette (Scream, Never Been Kissed), Tony Award nominee Mireille Enos (Big Love, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf on Broadway), Merritt Wever (Nurse Jackie), Julian Sands (A Room with a View, Boxing Helena) and Josh Stamberg (Drop Dead Diva). The production is helmed by Geffen Playhouse Artistic Director Randall Arney and begins in previews on February 2 with an official opening night of Wednesday, February 10, 2010.

The Geffen Playhouse welcomes back celebrated stage and screen actor John Mahoney (Frasier) for his second role in a Conor McPherson play at the Geffen Playhouse. After starring in the 2001 production of The Weir, Mahoney returns to play the role of Richard Harkin in The Seafarer, McPherson's 2008 Tony nominee for Best Play, which opens April 22 on the Geffen's main stage. Helmed by Geffen Playhouse Artistic Director Randall Arney, the ensemble cast also features seasoned actors Andrew Connolly, Tom Irwin, Paul Vincent O'Connor and Matt Roth.

Burton, Kaczmarek, and Barron Star In 'Blue Leaves' At Taper Forum
Casting is complete for the revival of John Guare's modern American classic comedy, 'The House of Blue Leaves,' which will open the new Mark Taper Forum after its year-long renovation. Directed by Nicholas Martin, 'The House of Blue Leaves' begins previews August 30, opens September 14 and continues through October 19, 2008.
