At its annual meeting today, the Guthrie Theater (Joseph Haj, Artistic Director) reflected on the organization's 2020–2021 fiscal year, which began September 1, 2020, and ended August 31, 2021. While onstage performances were shuttered due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Guthrie reached audiences through virtual programming and events, connecting communities during a time when healing and inspiration were greatly needed.

The Guthrie Theater (Joseph Haj, Artistic Director) today announced it will continue its annual tradition of partnering with The Food Group to collect healthy, nonperishable food items for Minnesota families in need this holiday season. The curbside food drive will take place at the Guthrie Theater, located at 818 South 2nd Street in Minneapolis, on December 19–21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Wilma Theater Honors Former Managing Director James Haskins For Its Fête 2019 Fundraiser

The Wilma Theater is set to celebrate its annual fundraising event, Fete 2019, honoring former Managing Director James Haskins, who in March departed the Wilma after 13 seasons of leadership to helm the renowned Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis as their new Managing Director. For Fete 2019, the Wilma seeks to recognize and celebrate Haskins for the indelible impact of his 20 years of service to the Philadelphia cultural community, having served a number of leadership roles at arts organizations throughout the city before landing at the Wilma in 2006. Philanthropists and arts leaders throughout the city will gather for an evening of gourmet fare and drink, and performances from local favorites. Tickets and sponsorships are on sale now for Fete 2019, which will be held at the Wilma on June 10, 2019 beginning at 5:30pm.

James Haskin Appointed To New Cultural Advisory Council

James Haskins, Managing Director of The Wilma Theater, has been appointed to Philadelphia Mayor Michael A. Nutter's newly formed Cultural Advisory Council. A leader in the Philadelphia theater community, Haskins was selected from over two hundred applications and recommendations from leaders in the arts and culture community. Over forty council members were selected to advise Mayor Nutter and Chief Cultural Officer Gary Steuer as they develop a comprehensive arts and culture strategy for the City of Philadelphia.
