JAMES GRAY is the Associate Choreographer for the upcoming Susan Stroman / Woody Allen musical BULLETS OVER BROADWAY.
He has just finished choreographing the AFI LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT SALUTE to Mel Brooks at the Dolby Theatre Hollywood which was televised on TNT and TCM.
He is the Associate Choreographer for the touring and Broadway productions of A CHRISTMAS STORY THE MUSICAL.
He served as the Associate Choreographer on CAROUSEL at Avery Fisher Hall with the New York Philharmonic which was televised on PBS.
He Directed and Choreographed PEG O MY HEART, THE NEW MUSICAL, which won the MITF Best Musical Award.
James staged the opening number for "STRO, A Celebration Gala" honoring Susan Stroman for the VINEYARD THEATRE and performed as Carmen Ghia with Nathan lane, Matthew Broderick and Gary Beach in the number "Keep It Gay". He has a long association with Susan Stroman and Mel Brooks, serving as Associate Director/Choreographer for the 2nd National tour of YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN.
He was Dance Captain for the Original Broadway company of YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN and the Original London Production of THE PRODUCERS.
As a performer in YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, he understudied and performed the role of Igor on Broadway as well as the 1st National Tour.
His history with THE PRODUCERS was three fold -Original London Company (understudied and performing the role of Carmen Ghia with Nathan Lane); The Broadway company; and seen as a little old lady in the Movie Musical version.
Other Productions include
1st Nat Tour 42nd STREET, RADIO CITY CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR, JUBILEE (Las Vegas), and Irving Berlin's WHITE CHRISTMAS (Pantages LA).
He has also performed at the SPORTING CLUB in Monte Carlo and at the LIDO de PARIS with the famous Blubell Girls.
LONDON WEST END credits include
ME and MY GIRL. the original companies of MACK and MABLE , BEAUTY and The BEAST. HELLO DOLLY Gala with Carol Channing and THE STYNE WAY GALA (where he partnered Chita Rivera and Rita Moreno) at the London Palladium.
