Review: BARBIE: THE MOVIE, Royal Albert Hall
by Franco Milazzo - Mar 9, 2025

It may have lacked the star power seen in previous shows but the Royal Albert Hall’s latest entry in their Films In Concert events was a night punctuated by laughter, tears and raw emotion.
Review: HAMLET, Starring Luke Thallon
by Cindy Marcolina - Feb 23, 2025

What do Shakespeare and James Cameron have in common? Before Rupert Goold took hold of the Bard’s tragic masterpiece, the answer would have been ‘nothing’. The soon-to-be artistic director of the Old Vic returns to the Royal Shakespeare Company after 14 years to offer a blockbuster Hamlet. Elsinore becomes a royal battleship and everything happens in less than one night in April 1912. Goold makes some daring choices, placing a lot of faith in his public and letting them interpret and assume certain twists in his vision.

Review: SCISSORHANDZ: A MUSICAL REINVENTED, Southwark Playhouse Elephant
by Mica Blackwell - Jan 31, 2025

Much like the Inventor creating the titular character, Scissorhandz - A Musical Reinvented has a lot to love about it but could do with some tinkering to fix its narrative issues.
Review: TITANÍQUE, Criterion Theatre
by Aliya Al-Hassan - Jan 10, 2025

What started as one-night showing in Los Angeles, after docking on Broadway, in Canada and Australia, Titaníque has now sailed into London. Based on the idea that global pop icon Céline Dion was actually the hero of the 1997 James Cameron film, Titanic, the absurdity of this dazzlingly camp and frankly ridiculous show only grows from there.

Review: A Stirring, Unforgettable TITANIC: THE MUSICAL at Bill Hanney's North Shore Music Theatre
by R. Scott Reedy - Nov 5, 2024

More than 112 years after RMS Titanic – then the largest ocean liner afloat – struck an iceberg and sank on April 15, 1912, during its maiden voyage from Southampton, England, to New York, the public’s fascination with its tragic story remains unabated.

Review: AVATAR THE LAST AIRBENDER-IN CONCERT at Hershey Theatre
by Rich Mehrenberg - Aug 22, 2024

Avatar the Last Airbender-In Concert “blew” into the Hershey Theatre on Thursday, August 8th and was met with “thunderous” applause. Audience members were treated to a giant movie screen playing scenes from the “fiery” series, accompanied by a very talented, yet “grounded” live orchestra.  As you might be able to guess, Avatar (no connection to the James Cameron movies with the blue people) deals with a battle among the elements, and the people who have control over them.

Review: TITANIC ON ICE: THE MUSICAL! at the The Lift For Life Academy Theater
by James Lindhorst - Jun 23, 2024

TITANIC ON ICE: THE MUSICAL is a cross between a semi-successful “Saturday Night Live (SNL)” skit and a ridiculous hour-long sketch from the old “Carol Burnett Show.” The script, adapted by Rob McLemore, includes all the memorable pot points from the film, plus every silly joke or sight gag that came to mind. The production had the feel of an improve troupe presenting a concept show based on an idea tossed out from the audience. It is plausible to think that during rehearsals the cast and crew collaborated to continue adding jokes and sight gags.
