11th Hour Theatre Company heats up the city with a three-show concert performance of City of Angels. This TONY Award winning musical will feature a cast of musical theatre stars and the 17-piece Big Band from The Summer Club. City of Angels has a book by Larry Gelbart, Music by Cy Coleman, and Lyrics by David Zippel. It is directed by 11th Hour Resident Director Megan Nicole O'Brien with Music Direction by Dan Kazemi. Larry Lees is conducting the Big Band. The concert will be Friday, June 7(8 p.m.) and Saturday, June 8 (2 p.m. and 8 p.m.) at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre, 480 S. Broad Street. Tickets cost $19-$39. The company is presenting a concert performance of the commissioned brand-new Civil War musical, Something Like A War with Music and Lyrics by Jake Blouch and a Book by Jesse Bernstein. The concert is directed by Jerrell L. Henderson and Dan Kazemi is the Music Director. The concert will be May 17-19 at The Louis Bluver Theatre at the Drake, 341 South Hicks Street. "Shepard Country" will kick off EgoPo's 2019-20 Sam Shepard Festival Season with a Country Western celebration featuring live music, line dancing, and a country feast. Headlining the evening will be Jawbone Junction, Philly's own Southern Rock theater band with line dancing by Giddy Up Philly and catering by Easy Passyunk's Redcrest Fried Chicken.
