Jacqueline Novak is a comedian, writer, and actress who has made a name for herself on the New York City comedy scene. Novak grew up in Westchester County, NY and attended Georgetown University, where she studied English and Women's Studies. After graduation, she moved to New York City to pursue a career in comedy.
Novak got her start in the comedy world performing at open mics and small clubs around the city. She quickly gained a following for her unique brand of humor, which often focuses on the absurdities of everyday life. In 2014, Novak wrote and performed her first one-woman show, "Quality Notions of Approval," which was met with critical acclaim.
In 2016, Novak made her Broadway debut as the opening act for Mike Birbiglia's show "Thank God for Jokes." She also appeared in the Off-Broadway play "Get on Your Knees," which she wrote and starred in. The play, which explores themes of sexuality and feminism, was a critical success and earned Novak a nomination for the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Solo Show.
In addition to her work in theater, Novak has also made a name for herself in the world of television. She has appeared on "The Late Late Show with James Corden," "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," and "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert." Most recently, Novak has been working on a new one-woman show, "Jacqueline Novak: Get On Your Knees," which premiered at the Cherry Lane Theatre in New York City in 2019. The show, which is a continuation of her earlier work, explores themes of sexuality and feminism through a series of comedic monologues.
