Houston Grand Opera (HGO) announced today the winners of the 31st annual Eleanor McCollum Competition for Young Singers Concert of Arias, which took place in the Cullen Theater of the Wortham Theater Center. This is the third year the Concert of Arias was streamed live on Facebook, and the second for livestreaming on YouTube. The livestream was hosted by HGO Studio alumna Andrea Carroll. She is currently performing in The Pearl Fishers as Le la and placed first in the 2012 Concert of Arias. The winners were announced during the second portion of the program.

While the standards and practices associated with broadcasting over the public airwaves normally hamstring networks, that doesn't mean that they aren't actively looking to push the limits of TV dramas. Next Tuesday at 10/9c, ABC premieres its new anthology series WICKED CITY, which they have actively advertised as "pushing the boundaries of network TV." The show centers on a sexy, serial killing couple in glamourous 1980's Los Angeles, and like everything else in the decade, the sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll are all done to excess.

For more than 85 years, this non-profit organization has been serving and protecting children residing in foster care in New York City. Over the past decade ARTrageous has been a huge success, raising more than $15 million. Today, EGSCF is one of the top Foster Care Agencies in New York City.
