Manatee Players Produce World Premiere Of THE LONG REUNION
Manatee Performing Arts Center is pleased to announce Manatee Players' world premiere of The Long Reunion, which runs May 24-27 in the Bradenton Kiwanis Theater. The show was written by internationally produced, award-winning playwright, Jack Gilhooley, who resides in Manatee County. The Long Reunion humorously addresses the issue of rising tides as witnessed by three Manatee High School graduates over the course of four decades.

Mildred's Umbrella to Host MUSEUM OF DYSFUNCTION PLAY FESTIVAL
?Mildred's Umbrella Theatre Company and Wordsmyth Theatre proudly present Museum of Dysfunction VIII: A SHOWCASE OF SHORTS. Now in its eighth year, this annual short play festival features new pieces by playwrights from across the nation and produced by the professional actors and designers in the Mildred's Umbrella Company. With over 200 submissions this year, only the top nineteen will be produced over two consecutive weekends. The first group of nine plays will run June 23-25 and the second group of ten will run June 30-July 2.
TampaRep's Laboratory Company's TAMPAWRIGHTS 3 Opens Tonight
TRT2, Tampa Repertory Theatre's laboratory company, presents TampaWrights 3, the third annual production of original one-act plays by Tampa-area playwrights. The production opens tonight, July 9th and plays through July 26th, Todays to Sundays. Evening performances are at 8, with Sunday matinees at 3pm.

BWW Reviews: STAGEWORKS 2013 - A Showcase for Newbies
Tampa Bay, Florida is the setting for all eight short plays, presented this past weekend, at Stageworks in Tampa. Scripts were submitted from all over central Florida; and were evaluated by a panel of judges. The participating artists received only an honorarium; donating their talents to the production. All of the plays were produced by StageWorks with minimal set pieces and props. This was an exceptional opportunity for area playwrights and 'showcase for newbies'.

TampaWorks is an evening of short plays set in Tampa Bay area locations. This year's TampaWorks is totally a Stageworks production. Playwrights from all over central Florida submitted scripts. The submissions were evaluated by a panel of judges, who chose eight short plays for the production. The production is being sponsored in part by Tucker/Hall, The Tampa Chamber Of Commerce and The Tampa Downtown Partnership. TampaWorks is an evening of short plays set in Tampa Bay area locations. The first edition took place in June, 2012. It was a production of the Stagewrights playwriting group and its sponsoring organization, Stageworks Theatre.
