BIO
Jack Davenport is a British actor who has made a name for himself on both stage and screen. Born in Suffolk in 1973, Davenport grew up in a family of actors, and it was no surprise when he decided to pursue a career in the performing arts.
Davenport's first major role came in 1996, when he was cast as Miles Stewart in the British television series "This Life." The show was a critical and commercial success, and Davenport's performance as the charming but troubled Miles earned him widespread praise.
Following the success of "This Life," Davenport appeared in a number of British television shows and films, including "Ultraviolet," "The Talented Mr. Ripley," and "The Wisdom of Crocodiles." However, it was his role as Commodore James Norrington in the blockbuster film "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" that brought him international recognition.
Despite his success in film, Davenport has always maintained a strong connection to the stage. In 2001, he made his West End debut in the play "The Servant" at the Lyric Theatre. He went on to appear in a number of other West End productions, including "The Libertine" and "The Real Thing."
In 2007, Davenport made his Broadway debut in the play "The Vertical Hour" by David Hare. The play, which explored the relationship between a British academic and an American journalist, received mixed reviews from critics, but Davenport's performance was widely praised.
In addition to his work on stage and screen, Davenport is also an accomplished voice actor. He has provided the voice for a number of animated characters, including the villainous Gideon Gordon Graves in the film "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World."
Most recently, Davenport has appeared in the British television series "Next of Kin" and "Brexit: The Uncivil War." He also starred in the 2019 film "The Aftermath," which tells the story of a British couple who move to Hamburg in the aftermath of World War II.
Throughout his career, Davenport has established himself as a versatile and talented actor, equally at home on stage, screen, and behind the microphone. With a string of successful projects under his belt and many more to come, there's no doubt that he will continue to be a force in the entertainment industry for years to come.
