Broadway Green Alliance Marks Earth Day With Virtual Performances by Rob McClure, James Snyder and More!
The Broadway Green Alliance will launch Earth Week by joining the Earth Day Initiative and March for Science NYC for their Earth Day 50 Virtual Kick-Off on Sunday, April 19 from 3:30pm - 10pm ET. As part of the special live stream, members of the Broadway community will join via virtual performance, sharing songs and messages of activism.

30 years after its stage debut, experiencing MISS SAIGON nowadays exposes just how outdated and out-of-touch it is with our increasingly diverse world view. The musical's original production---which first debuted in the West End in 1989 before transferring to Broadway in 1991---became a global hit despite some loud, very understandable controversy. Most audiences, however, ignored the accusations of orientalism, misogyny, and white-washing and instead focused on the show's epic melodrama and theatrical splendor, much of it powered by the lush music of Claude-Michel Schönberg and the lyrics by Alain Boublil and Richard Maltby Jr. The show continues at Orange County's Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa through October 13, 2019.

Buffalo audiences are in for a rare treat. The Broadway revival of the hit musical MISS SAIGON soared into town last night in what can only be described as a spectacular evening of theatre. First seen on Broadway in 1991 at the height of the megamusical phenomenon, MISS SAIGON continues to resonate with age. Those familiar with Puccini's opera MADAMA BUTTERFLY will not be disappointed in the updating of the story by composer Claude-Michel Schonberg and lyricists Richard Maltby and Alain Boubil.
