J. Andrew Burgreen, appointed Executive Director of the Cunneen-Hackett Arts Center, a 501c3 non-for-profit arts organization in Poughkeepsie, NY in March of 2015 moved to the Hudson Valley from Cape Ann, MA where he was Managing Directing and CFO for four seasons at the Gloucester Stage Company (GSC) founded by world renown playwright, Israel Horovitz. Burgreen directed several fund-raisers with a community singing group called, “Share the Music” and helped with the Massachusetts Cultural Commission’s designation of Gloucester’s Rocky Neck Cultural District. Under his leadership, the theater’s mortgage was reduced by $750,000 and Annual Appeals increased operational funding each year due to matching grants. Burgreen co-founded with his spouse, John E. North, the Hannibal Performing Arts Center at the Orpheum Theatre (HPAC) located in Hannibal, MO serving as its Producing Artistic Director from 2004-2007. He was responsible for creating “Music Under the Stars” with the Mark Twain Museum and Boyhood Home presenting a variety of musical genres and performers on an outdoor stage, free to the public. For over twenty-five years, Burgreen was Production Stage Manager on Broadway, Off and Off Off Broadway and in many regional theaters. He has worked with such legendary performers as Jason Robards, Colleen Dewhurst, Eli Wallack, Ann Jackson, Jean Stapleton, Christopher Plumber, Glenda Jackson, Larry Kurt, and George Rose to name a few. He has directed, produced, and performed in multiple productions throughout his career. He was at the New York State Theatre at Lincoln Center’s Subscriptions Department from 1989 to 2004 and a BFA graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder in Theater Production.
