BIO

Hailing from Queens, New York, Isio-Maya is a NYC native who received her dance training at The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and The Harlem School of the Arts. She attended NYU Tisch School of the Arts and graduated in 2022 with a BFA in Dance. While being a fulltime student, at just 18 years old she became the youngest African-American model for Maybelline New York; featured in Maybelline’s ’Colossal Mascara’ campaign in 2020. Following in 2021, Isio-Maya partnered with BLOCH, to create their first line of tonal pointes in an effort to push the agenda of a more inclusive dance industry. Isio-Maya then expanded her love for the arts into theater, as she made her theatrical debut in Goddess at the Berkeley Repertory Theater.
Not only is Isio-Maya determined to create a household name for herself, but she also strives to be something greater than herself that will inspire, represent, and amplify our voices.

The world premiere musical Goddess will extend for an additional week at Berkeley Rep. The new musical will now run through Saturday, October 1. Goddess is conceived and directed by Saheem Ali, music and lyrics by Michael Thurber, and written by Jocelyn Bioh.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre announced the full cast and creative team for the world premiere musical, Goddess. The musical stage production is conceived and directed by Saheem Ali, music and lyrics by Michael Thurber, and written by Jocelyn Bioh. Previews begin Saturday, August 13, and the show runs through Sunday, September 25.
2022 Douglas Lyons' Next Wave Initiative Winners Announced!

The 2022 winners of Douglas Lyons' Next Wave Initiative have been announced.  NWI is a developmental branch of The Directors Company committed to amplifying future Black voices in The American Theatre. Each winner will receive financial scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,959 to support their undergraduate or graduate education.
Clark Center NYC Presents 2nd Annual Dance Showcase

Clark Center NYC is proud to present their Second Annual Dance Showcase as part of celebrating the 60th anniversary of the initial founding of the Clark Center for the Performing Arts. The program will be repeated on two evenings, Tuesday, October 15th, and Wednesday October 16th at 7 pm at El Barrio Artspace PS 109 located at 215 East 99th Street, between Second and Third Avenues.  Tickets are: $15 - $20. Tickets are $20 online purchase, $25 at the door Children & Seniors $15 online purchase only.
