Invertigo Dance Theatre's FORMULAE & FAIRY TALES will world premiere at The Broad Stage September 13th and 14th, before going on tour beginning of next year. FORMULAE & FAIRY TALES re-imagines the life of mathematical genius and WWII codebreaker Alan Turing in a mash-up with the Disney classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. I had the opportunity to delve into the creative mind of Invertigo Dance Theatre's Founding Artistic Director Laura Karlin, the originator/co-creator of this piece.

Unlike the musical concerts and programs that are normally held there, these three dance pieces were choreographed, each in a different area outside or around the exterior of the Hall's structure, and sometimes even on the structure!
The Los Angeles Philharmonic Announces Return of Toyota SYMPHONIES FOR YOUTH Series
The Los Angeles Philharmonic presents its Toyota Symphonies for Youth (TSFY) concerts for the 2017/18 season at Walt Disney Concert Hall. Designed for children ages 5 to 11, the Saturday 11 AM concerts are designed to introduce kids to the joys of classical music through the experience of live orchestra performance combined with the fantasy of theater. Each concert is preceded by a choice of workshops at 10 AM that incorporate art, dance, storytelling, and an instrument petting zoo. Select TSFY concerts will be conducted by participants from the 2017/18 Dudamel Fellowship Program, created by Music & Artistic Director Gustavo Dudamel, together with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, in 2009 to provide a unique opportunity for promising young conductors from around the world to develop their craft and enrich their musical experience through personal mentorship and participation in the LA Phil's orchestral, education and community programs.
Pacific Symphony Presents Verdi's AIDA
Experience Verdi's impeccable musical genius at its most voluptuous when Pacific Symphony delivers the concert opera, "Aida, " recounting the doomed love triangle of an Egyptian princess, a young Nubian slave girl and the soldier they both love! For three grand nights, the orchestra comes out of the pit and onto the stage for this semi-staged presentation of Verdi's most popular and heartbreaking opera.
