Players Guild of Leonia to Present THE COMEDIA: THE PRINCE AND THE PAUPER

The Players Guild of Leonia continues its long tradition of fun enjoyable Children's Theater that provides a local family event to be enjoyed by all.
PGL to Host 13th Annual Playwrights Showcase, 6/13-15

Four original one act plays will have their premieres during The Players Guild of Leonia 13th Annual Playwrights Showcase. The plays will be presented on Friday and Saturday, June 13th & 14th at 7:30pm and Sunday, 15th at 3pm at The Civil War Drill Hall Theater, 130 Grand Avenue, Leonia. Tickets are $20/$18 for seniors and students.

This is a hilarious musical about relationships that are depicted in a series of life cycle vignettes from early dating experiences on through to old age yearnings. Freely adapted and staged by director Ray Yucis, the play centers on the comic misadventures of two sets of identical twins, separated in infancy, who find themselves in the same beachfront town on the same day. As the saying goes: 'Mayhem ensues.' Filled with Shakespeare's traditional comic blend of slapstick, clever wordplay, eccentric characters and romance, COMEDY OF ERRORS is the perfect show for the 'Shakespeare-phobic' or for those encountering The Bard for the very first time.

The Players Guild of Leonia has announced their production The Comedy of Errors by William Shakespeare at The Players Guild of Leonia Civil War Drill Hall Theater, 130 Grand Avenue, Leonia, NJ. on May 4th through May 20th. The show is directed by Ray Yucis with Assistant Director Linda Taub.

Shimmering with 18 songs from Cole Porter's most beloved musicals, High Society, the Musical is a high energy stage adaptation of the 1950's movie that starred Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby. The fast-moving story centers on a comically pretentious Oyster Bay wedding in June, 1938. Hilarious romantic complications revolve around the bride-to-be, her parents, and a smitten tabloid reporter. Colorful production numbers capture all the magic of Cole Porter's timeless lyrics.
