The franchise is comprised of the Wicked Clone cinema novel, cinema play, poetry book and music album. Indiggo Twins have developed and want to impose a new genre of musical and unique work of Art: the cinema musical— a unique blend of theater and film—a syncretic form of art that takes the audience to new heights of entertainment, and transforms through a divine, complex cinematic and theatrical experience.
The twins opened their WICKED CLONE The Cinema Musical off Broadway at St. Luke's Theatre on September 14th, 2017 which has been running successfully for 2 months, now expanding at a bigger venue due to popular demand. http://www.wickedclone.com
The twins' musical had proved to be a great success, having been praiseworthily reviewed by NY Post's Michael Riedel, Theater Mania, celebrity film directors, TV channels,. top actors and by full houses of audiences who have been touched by the epic film projections, powerful story origin (Modorcea inspire people to be Creators, alike God, to raise above their fears towards their full potential; their cinematic musical is an ode dedicated to the human being and to its limitless gifts) and original music (21 compositions written, performed and choreographed by us).
Both of them graduated with honors from the National University of Theatrical Arts and Cinematography, Bucharest, specializing in Acting, Musical Theater. They studied with renowned directors Francis Ford Coppola, Roman Polanski, Krzysztof Zanussi.
Mihaela & Gabriela created played the leads parts in the award-winning musical “The Two Orphans” by Adolphe D’Ennery and Eugène Cormon, Bucharest, 2006; in Eugene Ionecu play "The Future is in Eggs"; they guest starred in "Law & Order, SVU" along Mariska Harghitay and Christopher Meloni.
The Indiggo Twins’ roots are in the magical land of Transylvania.
Gabriela is the “Wicked Clone” who has inspired Mihaela to write her cinema novel Wicked Clone or how to deal with the evil. For the first time the heroes of a novel are heroes in real life, attempting to change the world just like the characters are trying to.
Mihaela Modorcea is also the author of the poetry book Rage and Love, of the cinema play Wicked Clone or how to deal with the evil, of the poetry book Wicked Clone or how to get reborn.
The first preview of the cinematic play Wicked Clone, based on Mihaela’s Wicked Clone novel, was at the prestigious Ensemble Studio Theatre, in New York City, 2011, under the direction of Jamie Richards, starring Mihaela and Gabriela Modorcea as authors, composers, performers and choreographers.
After having seen their Wicked Clone performance, Imagem, the world’s largest independent music publisher, signed them on the spot.
In 2016, the Wicked Clone Cinema Musical had other previews st Lynn Redgrave Theater, Elektra Theatre, Laurie Beechman Theatre, finding the most beatific and enthusiastic audience ever.
Mihaela and Gabriela aka Indiggo Twins have also written and produced over 250 songs, 21 of which are included on the Wicked Clone cinematic music album.
Along with her twin sister Gabriela, Mihaela is featured and credited as writer and performer on Jay-Z & Kanye West’s multi-platinum and four times Grammy award-winning album “Watch The Throne,” on the song “Murder To Excellence” which is widely considered and reviewed as “the centerpiece of the album.” (The New York Times)
A number of top music producers have written with and for Indiggo Twins including Swizz Beatz (Beyoncé, Jay-Z), Rockwilder (Christina Aguilera), Peter Zizzo (Celine Dion, Avril Lavigne), and Paul Oakenfold (Madonna).
The Indiggo Twins debuted at the age of 12 and were released Europe-wide by Sony BMG. Indiggo’s songs have been featured throughout over 20 countries.
Gabriela plays the piano and has composed the filmic soundtrack featured in the musical whereas Mihaela plays the guitar and is the lyricist of the duo. They both speak four languages and can sing in seven languages but their most preferred language is the universal “Language of Love,” as one of the Indiggo Twins’ compositions is entitled.
They belong to a highly artistic family: their father, Grid Modorcea is the author of 96 novels and 60 doc-dramas, their mother the author of 5 books of comparative theatre and literature, having taught world literature for 30 years at the most prestigious college in Bucharest, Romania.
