Pig Iron Theatre Company, the internationally acclaimed, Philadelphia-based organization, has announced that the world premiere of its ambitious, timely production A Period of Animate Existence will take place September 22-24 at the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Pennsylvania in the 2017 Fringe Festival, co-presented by FringeArts and Annenberg Center Live.

En Garde Arts presents BOSSS, its new site-specific outdoor performance festival featuring new works by some of the New York City's most promising emerging theatre artists, this weekend, October 23-25 throughout Hudson River Park. The opening night party at The Frying Pan will now take place on October 23 at 7pm. (Tickets for the opening night party, on board the Frying Pan at Pier 66, are $250 or $75 for artists.)

Producing Artistic Director, Jennifer Conley Darling says, "This is terraNOVA's biggest and most daring season yet. The line-up of new work by Robert Askins, Adam Szymkowicz and Ken Urban, as well as partnering with Rattlestick Playwrights Theater and One-Eighth. Bullet for Adolf, the new comedy by Woody Harrelson and Frankie Hyman, has extended its run at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street). Originally scheduled to play its final performance on Sunday, September 9, the production will now play through Sunday, October 21.

Once upon a summer of '83, a young aspiring actor named Woody Harrelson became close pals with a Harlem-raised fellow named Frankie Hyman while they both worked a construction job in Houston. Eventually, they went their separate ways; one becoming famous for doing something other than playwriting and the other pursuing a career in writing, although these many years later he apparently hasn't written anything he would care to mention in a Playbill bio.
